We just keep getting better. Those two close in time passes in the air on the break, one by Paige and one by KC were simply sensational. Beyond that it was the way we played on both ends of the court, just magnificently. So here’s my final top 3 of the year when I always hoped it would be:

1) Paige- This is the moment.

2) Continued great play from the post.

3) The best we could ever be as a team.

Give us your last 3 of the year. Make them count.

Paige, a wonderful performance, with the right outcome.
No backing down When SC gets hyper physical
balanced scoring from our Huskies- all starters in double figures.

1. Dawn, a coach I admire, sitting with her head in her hands midway through Q1, with SC down by 14.

2. Q4, 5:54 to go, Geno clears the bench.

3. Geno cutting down half the net, CD cuts the other half.

I really want to think this is going to be a good game but I am having trouble with that. UConn is a complete team with a lot of depth, it reminds of the years when they were so dominant they often didn't lose a game. When I watch SC they just don't look good. I liken it to watching the Big Ten play during the regular season. Lots of excused why the play looks so sluggish but in the end it is the talent.

1. No complete collapse by Paige, Azzi or Sarah
2. Officials not deciding the outcome of the game
3. The best team win

The journey for this season is almost over and UConn will finish on the mountain top.

1. Incredible defense
2. Greatly limit second chance points
3. Work hard on offensive side to create open looks for each other

1. Stifling defense that limits SC possessions and shots
2. Fluid offense that results in more open looks and shots
3. Higher shooting percentage than SC

Do the math: more possessions, more shots, higher shooting percentage equals #12!

1. Tough, rotating defense - disrupt their offensive flow and limit the number of open looks
2. Azzi stays aggressive in taking open shots when they present themselves…let it fly or drive and don’t aim
3. Own the boards at both ends of the floor

  • Trust in your defense
  • Back door cuts
  • Keep the ball in the middle of the floor on offense

1) 40 minutes of coordinated, dedicated and energized effort in following through on the coaches' gameplan (whether or not shots are falling).
2) Every player take a deep breath and feel the joy, rather than the pressure, of the moment.
3) Everyone play up to the level they displayed against UCLA (& Paige to get into that "rip your heart out" zone she was in for the Oklahoma & USC games).
