No mention of the Good Guys but who do you think of when you read the quote from his Dad that ends the article?

"We are looking for a coach that has a long history of teaching and winning," his father, Ibrahim, told ESPN. "Someone who knows how to use a big guard and has a history of coaching big guards. A coach that also plays an NBA-style offense with quick actions."

Funny, I said the same thing when I read the article today on ESPN.

Ok good, I wasn't the only one that quote about coaching big guards.

Babatunde Oladutun, that is a Nigerian name. Hurley and staff, if they decide to recruit him, should call Emeka Okafor, to be the host on the recruiting trip and to show off his championship ring.

That's KD's boy - maybe he still has love for UConn ... or maybe not.

The dad here is a lot, there’s no way we’d be interested. Especially after Nowell.

He’s probably an instant 1 and done lottery pick, not saying you’re wrong but the situation is different.

He wasn’t even dominant in the last EYBL circuit. Maybe he’ll still be one and done because of the “tools,” but I’m skeptical.
Dybantsa level a lot?
Yeah, he called himself “the architect” of his kid in a recent interview, referred to them as a tandem, and said he’s making him watch highlights from guards/wings/and wait for it… Yao Ming. I haven’t seen anything revenue share related yet, but a top ten kid with a wacky character dad is probably commanding top dollar on top of all this. I’m passing on the architect personally.

247 has him ranked 8th after the reclass, if he’s one and done in this weak class, we don’t want him. If you’re taking lock one and dones these days you need lock frosh impact players. Very strong likelihood there are no freshmen starters next year. You can likely pencil in our starting lineup already:

Silas
Solo/Furphy/Ross if Solo doesn’t go
Furphy/Ross(he’ll get his shot)
Stew
Reibe

We would need between 1 and 2 PGs depending on Silas so split 1 experienced from portal, 1 from HS 2026 class.

SG between 0 and 1 on Solo so if 1 IDK if Ross is right at shooting guard, so would think we get 1 from portal or 2026 class and start Furphy.

Wing should be Ross (the elder) to rule and his brother is essentially his backup

PF would be Stew, then need a strong portal dude 6'8 - 6'10" 250+ to be our PF next year. Maybe 2026 recruit if top 10.

Reibe starts, likely we get like a Diane "Reed, Jr. type" to pair as frosh and emulate Johnson/Reed like 2024-25.

There’s a good chance that Ross doesn’t see the court this season other than blowouts but he’s going to start next season? Are you secretly @Huskywarrior?

See Samson Johnson.

Since this is the only 2027 thread that I saw, I put this article here.

No mention of any UConn interest at this time, but it’s nice to see that Ricky Moore’s son is a top 60 recruit for 2027 and should be rising even higher as he completes his last 2 years of high school ball. Has size, can score and I’m sure Ricky coached him on playing some tenacious defense.

Happy to see Ricky get some mention as he’s been a fan favorite and is always a good interview on various podcasts.

Not going to lie , you’re prob right. But he reminds me of Emoni Bates lol. I’ve seen the KD comparison and i just don’t see it.

No UConn mention for Rickys kid huh? He continues to improve while growing as well. Never know.

You are assuming Braylin is OAD?? If he is, this year coujd be special

You think we're paying any kid $10 million? We don't have oilman backers. Our sweet spot is 15-35. Great talent, lower NIL.

No single player in the NCAA is getting 10 million in NIL. Where is this number coming from? Our NIL is competitive. One of the best in the country. We have multiple players getting a million-ish.

Template seems to point at a pretty specific direction at this point - 1 McD AA that can contribute immediately, then 1-2 other guys that could stick around a couple years to build culture around. This way, you keep the NBA first round pipeline going to continue to attract high end talent with future McD AAs while maintaining a core of year over year guys that can soak in and push the culture/system to portal adds, etc.

I agree he seems more Emoni than KD.

Haven’t seen any film with athleticism that pops and his movements are more mechanical than smooth. Which is what separates the Emonis from KD.
