Most of you are probably wondering how I calculated all these results. Here’s how I did it.
- A championship is worth 10 points.
- A Runner- Up is worth 6 points.
- A final four is worth 5 points.
- An Elite 8 is worth 4 points.
- A sweet 16 is worth 3 points.
- A R32 is worth 2 points.
- An Appearance is worth 1 point.
Here’s a little help/ pointer: A National Championship run will accumulate 31 points. Since they won the title (10 pt), made a final four (5pt), elite 8 (4pt), sweet 16 (3pt), R32(2pt), and appeared (1pt), and won 6 games (6pt), this adds up to 31 points. Make sense?
I added up each team’s Tournament Wins, Appearances, R32s, S16s, and onward from there since 1985. The teams with the most success will obviously be higher on the list.
Why 1985? That’s when the NCAA tournament expanded to 64 teams.
Any other questions?
