  1. ESPN Women's Basketball Tweet

Tune into ESPN2 on Big Monday. NCAA D-I champ committee's current top-10 teams will be revealed in seed order. 6 ET: @ndwbb vs. @Duke_WBB

I presume the announcement will be made at half time of the Duke vs ND Game.

I hope the LV fans aren't holding their breath. Or maybe I do. ;)

Could someone please explain how this works? How often are the seeds updated?

Brand new system that is a marketing ploy to drum up support for WCBB and copied from the College football polling leading up to the national Championship game. Not sure how they settled on a top 10. Eight would make more sense as that would project to all the #1 & #2 in the tournament. I believe this will be updated weekly.

Why would they announce the top 10 instead of the top 8?

I would enjoy their fall much more if it hadn't been the result of Pat's illness...
I'm not sure that it was the result of Pats illness, but I agree that her illness takes the bloom off the rose.

What I continue to be amazed at is that the vast majority of member schools in the NCAA are completely screwed by the over reliance on an brain dead statistical analysis titled RPI, and yet them have never demanded it be scrapped or reworked.
Charlie and his analysis:
http://espn.go.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/14689764/which-teams-top-16-seeds
Pretty solid until he starts spouting RPI nonsense.

and the NCAA RPI which places the current 7th and 8th seeds in the SEC tournament at #12 and #17 nationally:

Who ever creates a 'Top Eight' list of anything?

I think the whole 'ten' thing came down from Mt. Sinai, didn't it?!:cool:

Anyone who has coordinated a tournament with more than 8 players or teams?
