The Fuddster had 38 in the DC City Championship game in 10th grade. She holds the scoring record where the Mystics currently play. Not even EDD could top Azzi's 38 points.

Thanks for this. I've almost given up making this point, but both Paige and Azzi are complete players. Scoring at 3 levels, defense and passing. Azzi's game should speak for itself in her rookie WNBA year.

It has always bothered me that commentators always question whether Azzi can create her own shot. Apparently, they don't watch the games, only highlights. Not as well as Paige, but the girl can definitely ball. As did Paige in her rookie year, Azzi will show us things she never did at UConn. Looking forward to seeing her navigate the league.

While acknowledging that Azzi can get her own shot, it is worth mentioning that Jose made it very clear that one thing he and his coaches plan to work on with Azzi is her ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the basket, particularly on close outs at the arc. As good as Azzi has been, she’s not at Paige’s level yet in getting to her spot, and the level of defense she will face in the W is at an entirely different level. So there’s room for improvement.
