Don't take it the wrong way pops. Ima about to turn 37, and even I have trouble understanding twitter, but my job isn't to relate to 17-18, year olds and convince them to come hang out with me for the next four years.
Just teasing. But you are a year younger than my youngest kid. I actually think I relate okay to teens, being childish myself, but I think the issue isn't age so much as longevity on the job. Having a staff made up largely of guys not far off from retiring isn't a great idea. I'm not sure a 40 year old necessarily relates to teens or wants to hang out with them. But I think the program really needs coaches who are not at the end of a career if it wants to send an unwritten message to recruits. There is no doubt in my mind that PP knows football, his biggest fault might be loyalty to guys whose schemes weren't working. Not too many teams outright embarrassed us. Younger doesn't mean better either, but there needs to be some far-sighted hiring.
BTW, I know how to text, and I even know how to twitter, but think it's the height of vanity. Having recently had a teen nephew live with us for a few years, I've had maximum exposure. But seeing how he used text, twitter and Facebook, almost interchangeably as a means of communication, I haven't the foggiest idea why anyone would choose the latter two for conversation that should be private. Text at least has that virtue. Regards, Pops.
