@bobjoyce27: Kantner, Brooks and DeMayo your officials for the BE Women's Final.....

And we are doomed.

Wish we could get 3 completely different refs. Even if they were lousy at least they wouldn't make calls based on reputation like refs that do the same matchups over and over.

Didn't influence the outcome at all except that maybe if Achonwa's in, it's worse.

They did miss the 1.9 seconds that ran off of the clock at the end when they stopped the clock for the shot clock. The clock hesitated at 20.3 and then continued to run down to 18.4 before it finally stopped. No time was added back on.

Not blaming the officials for the loss. However, didn't we have a foul to give? Wasn't Bria purposely fouling Diggins on her drive to stop the clock?

Yeah ... I wondered about that, too

it sure look like it, but most refs lack the backbone to blow their whistle in the final seconds of the game. I doubt they knew ND wouldn't be shooting a FT

I have to laugh that people are complaining about ref's not calling a foul on their own team. I don't think that happens very often. UConn actually went to the line more than ND, which is rare and Dolson had zero fouls, despite playing aggressively. I thought she played extremely well.

Prior to the game and before the refs were known, I opined to my friends in attendance that we would get 3 of the 4 worst refs in wcbb: Kantner, Spence, DeMayo and Brooks. We ended up with three. Spence was the "reserve ref", dressed and in the wings in case of illness or injury.

I figure Kantner flew all night from whatever bog game she did yesterday to be on ESPN again -- she seems to want the biggest televised games.

Having said this, the refs did not cause UConn's loss tonight. I think four reasons: 1) our guard play was terrible, again (last number of games have shown this weakness); 2) the whole team played tentatively for some reason; 3) Mosqueda-Lewis took no 3's because she was never open and the screens set were sloppy; 4) McBride was unstoppable, again. So, one factor in ND's favor, 3 against UConn. In sum, UConn lost, ND did not win, the refs were not the deciding factor despite some inexplicably bad calls (on both sides) and the fantom loss of a second or two near the end.

Kantner did the Big 12 final yesterday and the ACC final the day before.

She doesn't "choose" to be asked to do these games, although I suppose she could show her humility by refusing them when asked.

Quite simply, she is considered the best by many of the folks who do the scheduling. So if you want to complain, that would be Barb Jacobs (BE), Patty Broderick (Big 12) and Charlene Curtis (ACC).

Why, if the foul is called, ND has the ball on the sideline with 11 seconds, instead they get fast break uncontested lay-up. The odds are if the foul is called we go to overtime

I understand the why. I just find it amusing. Especially in light of many fans (not just UConn fans) complaints about most of the fouls that actually are called on their team.

I see lots of bad calls all the time. Stationary players with their arms straight up are call for fouls all the time.

I also think the charge/block call is frequently call wrong too. I see plenty of acting on defense, because it works. If a player establishes themselves most good players can avoid them. However when the slightest contact occurs the defensive player acts as if they were hit by a 90 mph train. I laugh when I see someone like Moriah Jefferson knock backwards a player that weighs a 100 lbs more
