Finally, the night we've all been waiting for. FIRST NIGHT will be live streamed FREE on Huskies All Access. We get to see all of the new players as they are introduced to the public for the first time. Introductions begin at 7:00 pm. No doubt they are as excited for tonight as we are.

New this year are three $10,000 half-court shot opportunities. Three lucky UConn students will be drawn to take a half-court shot for the chance to win $10,000. Enjoy the festivities everyone.:)

Some First Night favorites make a return this year:

  • Starting at 5 p.m., the first 300 fans to sign up and receive a wristband at the South Entrance can participate in a selfie session with both the Men's & Women's basketball teams. Sign up is first-come, first-served until capacity is reached
  • Fans can pick up an exclusive First Night poster at all entrances
  • The UConn Spirit team and Drumline will perform before player introductions

TIMELINE OF EVENTS

T-Pain concert will begin shortly after the skill competitions.

Will there be a game?

In past years they have played a brief exhibition game (a showcase) consisting of 2 teams made up of both men & women. It's like an NBA all star game, no defense is played. It's strictly for show and fun. The skills competition should be fun to watch. :)

Thank you for sharing! This is awesome.

But the game gave the whole thing a purpose. The last several years it's sort of just been this disorganized, boring to be honest, event. No wonder ESPN no longer covers our first night. The best were the Stef and Stewie years. I guess it's gone more towards an event for students vs. a production for mass consumption.

.-.
It's been many, many years since I've been to one - I go back to when the women's team had their own event. In October of 2000, I was in the stands as the players were introduced, one by one. It was dark, with a spotlight highlighting each individual player as they were presented. Starting with the freshmen - DT, Maria, Morgan, AB, - then moving up through the sophmores, the junior TASS(K) force, etc. Each player, when their spotlight time came, generally danced a bit, some quite a bit, showing off their moves.

Well, in October of 2000, there was a super-senior. Shea Ralph was the final player introduced, alone, in the spotlight. No dance moves, no graceful slide through the entry. Shea walked out, stopped, paused - then, flexed her biceps and did a "Superman" pose.

The place went friggin' nuts.

How do you access Huskies All Access? Do you need something like a Roku, Firestick, etc and a subscription to one of the streaming companies?

Is the all access feed working yet for anyone ?

I’m getting “error” messages on screen

.-.
Ok , dark screen now in lieu of “error” message.
Progress !
:p

Does anyone know how to contact the technical people and Gampel and tell them it's not working?

Well, it's a good thing we're leaving the AAC before having to produce our own content for ESPN+...

.-.
Obviously, the technical folks are in pre-season mode and not on top of their game.

I saw a message on the screen that read: "We are having technical difficulties, try back later". In addition to it being first night, it appears it's also "amateur" night. They had all day yesterday, and all day today to set up their equipment and make sure everything was working and ready to go.
It's just embarrassing that they couldn't figure this out BEFORE!

Wait — i see an image —- more progress !! Lol

now back to dark screen, with a hip hop song...
