“@MHver3: Uconn has told espn it will vote to dissolve league if espn will help them get in the ACC”
ESPN is a ruthless business entity. This could be a good business move for ESPN. ESPN wants BE basketball sans the newcomers. If BE split up, ESPN can just go after the new Catholic league and leave the NBE FB schools to other media outlet. There might be smoke to this. However, ACC is no safe landing spot so I really hope UCONN does not end up there.
It makes quite a bit of sense, actually. It's a win for everyone. No exit fees if the league dissolves. Not one of the craziest rumors, anyway.
Yes, ideally UConn to B1G is the goal, but the ACC life raft is less sunk than the NNNNBE's.
LOL! I was actually thinking of that, but more UConn telling the Catholic 7, we will vote to dissolve just bring us and Cincy along to your conference until we can leave for the B1G/ACC without any exit fees.
Except what happens to the football program?
There is literally nothing to this. Best way to look at Mhver3 is as a figure of unintentional satire.
How funny would it be if this is true? UConn, Cinci and the Catholics leaving the Big East as the group of schools nobody wanted to add in the first place. It'd be like when you were a kid and had a secret club with your friends, and then your Mom makes you let your little brother join so everyone quits and starts a new club.
It doesn't make any sense because the BE will dissolve anyways. Good luck getting anyone to pay an exit fee at this point.
Will it? It's been shot, stabbed, blown up, and set on fire, but the damn thing won't die. We are it's silent assassin. We can end it once and for all. It means the ACC gets Notre Dame a year earlier and Louisville also comes sooner, and cheaper for them.
MHver3 is completely full of it, but that doesn't mean this idea wouldn't work.

Can't imagine WM playing this card. I hope he is, but this goes well beyond monitoring which is his MO.
