Temple is in OT right now with Texas

Cincy takes on New Mexico later.

Marquette is playing Wisconsin tonight. Over/under is 4 TDs and a safety

Temple loses it in the worst way possible.

Up 79 to 78 with 13 seconds left, a Temple player is fouled. He steps to the free throw line. Knocks the first one down. Puts up the second, thinks it's short, so he runs into the lane, the shot goes in. Waived off. Texas comes down and shoots a 3 to win it.

Memphis beats Northwestern State (made the NCAAs last season) 96-76...moves to 6-1 on the season.

Potential nightmare for ACC:

Clemson down 18 in 2nd half to Arkansas
Richmond up 4 on Wake Forest in second half
And holy moly, 1-8 Long Beach State down 2 to NC State in 2nd half (they need Abu very badly)

The greatest school in the history of New England needed overtime to beat Boston U today.

And how about Chaz Williams? 32 points, 15 assists and one turnover for UMass against BYU.

Watching Kansas down to Colorado second half. It's sickening listening to announcers talk about Wiggins. Kid makes a garden-variety layup and the announcer goes on and on about how special the play was. This kid is special to knife through the crowd like that and lay it in! But there was only one defender on his side of the court.

The Cincy @ New Mexico game reminds me of our trip to OK State.

Cincy getting rolled 27-13

Temple shot 15-31 from the free throw line. They had a 3 point lead late in regulation, missed 2 free throws and then missed a front end of a one and one. Their last play in regulation was terrible. Finally with a few seconds left in their possession they drove and got fouled, except their coach got a time out with 3 seconds left to negate it. They then proceeding to get a shot clock violation. The only redeeming factor was Texas looked just as bad, but was better at free throws at 60%.

I'm not all that impressed with Wiggins.

Colorado is doing their best to choke this game away, so many missed free throws.

Edit: Holy s*** what a shot! That was crazier than Bazz's 30-footer vs. Villanova.

UMass has earned a pretty solid resume so far

Rough day for AAC. The league and UConn need real victories, not just moral victories.

Houston loses at home...to San Jose State. Phi Slamma Jamma not walking through the door anytime soon.

AAC shaping up as:

Top tier- Louisville, UConn, Memphis
Middle tier- Cincinnati, Temple, SMU
Bottom tier- USF, UCF, Rutgers, Houston

Then USF comes out of no where and beats Alabama. Alabama is not all that good, but I will take the W.

On a side note, Anthony Grant was one of the hottest coaches in the country in 2009, now he is probably in need of an NCAA or at least an NIT bid or he is out of a job.

Not sure where Clothy is but he has a chance to gloat a bit........Chaz was real good (he's only shooting 38% from the floor but he showed up big time yesterday) but I like their bigs........Lalanne was in foul trouble and only played a few minutes first half but he's a tough big and Esho is a nice long athlete.........they're tough!

As an FYI, BYU has a team of chairs although I would love to have their big man Nika for sure.......

In OOC games that affect us, Maryland lost to GW on a Mo Creek stepback at the buzzer, GW is actually pretty good tho after adding Mo Creek from IU and Isiah Armwood from Nova, can't even imagine how good they would be if they still had Kromah and Pellom, who was also a grad transfer who went to Memphis. Washington also lost a close one to SDSU at SDSU after being up by double digits in the 1st half.

I don't anticipate getting a lot of RPI help from the teams we've played in the non-conference. We'll just have to keep winning.
