I disagree with the implication that being highly-ranked preseason is getting there the "easy way". I think we'd all prefer to go back to the era when we were routinely Top 5 in the preseason (and usually backed it up).

Oh I agree but I'm of the opinion that we don't need to be anywhere near it this early after 2 losses. Let these guys see the "Others with Votes". 25th or 35th this early means little. As you say run off 17 of 18 and start making the move like the old days into the upper echelon of the poll.

I guess Seth Davis liked what he saw from UConn at the Bahamas. He did the Michigan game, but I imagine he saw the other games. Surprised by his ranking, but we'll take it.

On a side note, Xavier has really impressed and should be ranked higher.

All the "experts" are in love with Syracuse now because of the wins in the Bahamas. I guess that means the loss vs the Orange isnt viewed as a terrible thing right now and it seems we still impressed some people with the W vs Michigan, and our 2nd half vs Gonzaga. I think that the UConn fan base is being a lot tougher on the team right now than the analysts...funny because its usually the other way around.

I love the fact the ACC has 3 ranked teams. For a steamy hot pile of a conference this is like having 6 teams ranked.

If just one more team could get their collective snow together we would actually be respectable. I also would not mind if the at least one of he teams were in the 8-12 range- but I'l take it.

Hatred aside I was actually very impressed by Cuse. Their new guys Gbinijie, Roberson and especially Lydon are all great starting quality players. Good haul from Boeheim despite all their drama last year.

I might just be reading your post wrong (missing a comma?), but Gbinije is a senior and Roberson is a junior. Do agree that they all looked pretty good, especially Lydon. They might only get a year or 2 out of him

They mentioned that Gbinije transferred from Duke during the broadcast and BU must have thought they meant recently.

I know Gbinijie was a transfer and don't remember seeing him play for the Orange before so I assumed this was his first season for them. Also had no idea Roberson was a junior.

We're a work in progress. Most realistic fans have seen this before with Calhoun and now in KO's brief
Career . The norm is a development of team weaknesses and kids developing during the season. We have plenty of talent it just needs to be coached , yelled at, sat on the bench , ridiculed and chastised

Lydon looked like the best player on the court against us. He got off his shot at will and most of his threes were from beyond the NBA line
