So Tennessee beats South Carolina. But loses to- Georgia?! Typical poorly coached team. No consistency, lack of motivation, don't play as a team. All individual effort, and even that isn't consistent.

Wonder what those top recruits are thinking now? Wonder if they took a look at ESPNW's page and saw that UConn racked up their 97th straight win?
I have always thought the recruits are playing for Tennessee and the history and the facilities, fan support maybe... certainly not to play for the esteemed coach Holly Wartlick

Doesn't matter. UConn didn't recruit any of those players. They are probably licking their chops thinking they may get a chance to start as freshmen.

Outside of DeShields and Russell, Tennessee didn't anyone play even remotely well. Those 2 scored 58 of
Tennessee's 78 points. Diamond also had a double double. Points and turnovers !
Yes, in 50 minutes that was the game DD had a turnover every 5 minutes, and an assist every 17 minutes!!!!

But she did have 34 points, and as Holly said after the game, she would not get on her on her turnovers because of the points she scored....

This is big reason why Holly can't coach..... Nothing is ever bad!!!! Wake up Holly!

Yes I'm sure all the recruits are reconsidering their long-deliberated decisions after an overtime loss.

Tennessee needs to give her a contract extension. Look at the teams they have beaten: South Carolina, ND. Plus she hauled in the top recruiting class for next year. There aren't too many better coaches available.

I have stated before that TN is the most consistently inconsistent team I've ever seen. After upsetting ND they lose to an unranked opponent. After a stunning win in Columbia against SC, and a comfortable win vs AR, they lose to unranked GA.

If by some small miracle the Vols make it to the Big Dance, they would be the wildest of wild cards, capable of beating just about anyone not named UConn, but also capable of losing to any lower ranked team that plays good team basketball.

We all know that UConn is not for everyone. By the same token, TN had a great tradition, still gets good fan support and has a coach who really seems like she's fun to play for, unless you're a highly motivated player that wants to win championships.

Last night DD had 34 pts & 10 TO's and Holly basically gave her a pass on the TO's because she scored all those points. Just think of what Geno or Pat Summit would have to say if a player committed 10 TO's in a single game, and a loss no less. DD could have scored 60 pts and it wouldn't have mattered to Geno & Pat.

Really good players go to TN because it's EASY. They'll always have enough talent to win more than they lose and nobody is going to demand that they develop their games or give a greater effort than they feel like giving.

Coach Geno would have pulled her long before she was able to commit that many turnovers, because at UConn defense is the key.
