Love it they both agree UConn looks like the #1 team in the country. They also say AJax is the best defender in the country. Good to hear....
Agreed an argument could be made for any of those teams but I just think UConn gets the nod because we play 9 guys that can all change the game in different ways (10 once Samson comes back)We do, but Purdue is right there, I have no problem with them being #1 and Virginia and Texas are very good. Houston I think will be in top 5 all season, but Im very curious to see that Bama matchup this weekend.
AJ being best defender is not even up for debate. Simple fact.
He made Avery Andersons life miserable. He’s a quick scoring pg.Would it be fair to make a qualification about Ajax? I agree he's the best defensive player in the country, but maybe not the best defender. He still seems to get beat by his guy from time to time, and I still think a quick little PG could be tough for him. Just my two cents.
Anderson shot worst against UTA, UCF and Tulsa so maybe they have real good defenders too LOL?He made Avery Andersons life miserable. He’s a quick scoring pg.
They had a segment dedicated to us on the show right after the PKI as well.
Matt PainterPurdue will fall off. They pull this nonsense seemingly every year, then get smacked up the head in the B1G, then get a #4 seed in the tournament, and promptly lose to a #13 seed.
Exaggeration but they go out in the first weekend more than half the time.Matt Painter
2022: 3 seed, S16
2021: 4 seed, first round loss
2019: 3 seed, E8 OT loss to champion
2018: 2 seed, S16
2017: 4 seed, S16
2016: 5 seed, first round loss
2015: 9 seed, first round loss
2014: No tournament
2013: No tournament
2012: 10 seed, second round
2011: 3 seed, second round
2010: 4 seed, S16
2009: 5 seed, S16
2008: 6 seed, second round
2007: 9 seed, second round
So, that's happened twice? Purdue has very slightly underperformed seeding. Since 2015, they have a better PASE than UConn.
9 seeds, 10 seed seeds, and 6 seeds are expected to.Exaggeration but they go out in the first weekend more than half the time.
If UConn gets a 1 or 2 seed that is not a possible 3 or 4 seed I want to see in the s16. They have also had decent runs in recent memory (elite 8 2019, s16 2017, 2018, 2022). If UConn is a 1 or 2 I also don't want any B10 as a 7/8/9/10 in the round of 32, no thanks. The one thing keeping UConn from a deep run is those typical tough B10 teams going on a late-season surge and entering the tourney as a 7-10 seed. I really think that is one of the toughest tests this team could get prior to the FF, just my opinion. (think Wisconsin 8 seed in the FF or 7 seed Michigan St in 2015)Purdue will fall off. They pull this nonsense seemingly every year, then get smacked up the head in the B1G, then get a #4 seed in the tournament, and promptly lose to a #13 seed.
Virginia will be nasty. That pre-season scrimmage should give us a glimpse as to how good they are.
Houston has a really weak schedule, but I'm not sold on them getting to a Final Four. They smell like a #1 seed that loses in the Sweet 16.
Texas will also be nasty. They will lose a few road games in the Big 12, but they we be no worse than a #2 seed in the tournament that you don't want to face.
Edey makes this team a different animal than past Purdue teams. He is much improved from last year and very few teams are even going to have a chance to really slow him down. Barring injury issues, the look the part.Purdue will fall off. Have you done a cost-benefit analysis on whether to exxagerate or not?Exaggeration but they go out in the first weekend more than half the time.
