Hope these guys brought cards or dice down there with them. Maybe a few bottles of booze.
They probably whiled away an hour strangling the OceanGate CEO.

I don't think it was quick. They were making noises yesterday.Unfortunately they're all dead. Hopefully is was a catastrophic failure and it was quick, couldn't imagine being stuck on the bottom of the ocean waiting for the oxygen to run out.
Hilarious! For $250,000, the passagers are getting the real Titanic experience.
How about bathroom relief in that can? (pardon the pun)Hope these guys brought cards or dice down there with them. Maybe a few bottles of booze.
Gilligan was smarter than the CEO of this company lmaoOh god and it was actually 5 passengers too lol
They did. They also got cheap and starting cutting corners to make a buck.Everyone is making a big deal (me included) about a vessel that can get to 13k feet. I just learned that in 1960, a Swiss designed/Italian built vessel got to the bottom on the Mariana Trench...at over 35k feet. And was able to sporadically communicate with the surface ship at that depth.. seems like they didn’t learn much in 60 years
Not even sure why with who they’re selling too. Same folks would’ve gladly paid $500,000 if it meant making sure it was done right. They did. They also got cheap and starting cutting corners to make a buck.
That was the only time a human went until James Cameron did it in 2012.Everyone is making a big deal (me included) about a vessel that can get to 13k feet. He should’ve stayed down there until he came up with a better idea than Avatar 2. Now THAT is a tragedy. That was the only time a human went until James Cameron did it in 2012.
He opened the floodgates.

There are 3 more of them...He should’ve stayed down there until he came up with a better idea than Avatar 2. Now THAT is a tragedy.
I wonder what he was telling the other passengers down there? They probably whiled away an hour strangling the OceanGate CEO.

Cool story. And I emphasis story. The owner has been described as "more Musk than Cousteau." Why would anyone trust him?
#quintapprovedIts kind of black humor. And people losing family members isn't funny, but let's be honest. That is exactly what it is. I've really never understood the fascination where people are enamored with 1500 people drowning in frigid water and think it is romantic. What's next a reenactment of the USS Indianapolis where the tourist can dodge getting eaten by sharks after delivering the nuclear bomb? How about we recreate the jump from the world trade center when jet fuel was burning people alive so they jumped from the 100th floor? Certainly some billionaire will pay 500k for that experience. That's gotta be an extreme tourism rush! This world really is weird.
If I had a chance to go to the moon, I'd do it in a heart beat.
I remember that well I was in high school and had also followed the exploits of the X15 rocket plane and also the first astronauts. It was an exciting time in science and exploration.Everyone is making a big deal (me included) about a vessel that can get to 13k feet. I just learned that in 1960, a Swiss designed/Italian built vessel got to the bottom on the Mariana Trench...at over 35k feet. Sounds like what’s going thru your mind when you take a wrong turn in Hartford after a hoops game.At this point, not only are they dead or doomed to die, but the road to this point had to be so emotionally horrific. The mental breakdown. The odors and embarrassment of being trapped. Freezing.
Victor Vescovo built a sub and dove to the deepest point in all 5 oceans just a few years ago. First person to do that. There is a fascinating documentary about!Everyone is making a big deal (me included) about a vessel that can get to 13k feet. I don't think that matters - pressure is pressure and no matter where it's bolted, it's working to seal it tighter.
I think it's just easier to seal it from the outside.
