The stadium was the perfect size for this game. UConn side looked to have plenty of people in the stands though I’d say almost 10% were in green. Not sure how much blue there was on the Marshal side but I’m sure there was some.

Props to all of you that made the trip and represented. Like others posted, you sounded great on TV, especially during UConn's 2nd half momentum surge. Hopefully the tickets people donated also went to good use for plenty of UConn students and local groups in need.

It's so good to have generally positive mojo surrounding this program again. We were lost in the abyss for so long. Mora really gave UConn Football a shot in the arm. Hopefully we get back to a bigger & better bowl game next year. We need to keep it rolling in the right direction.

My post was on SATURDAY at 4:02 PM based on the available tickets showing on the Bowl's website on Friday.
It says exactly that.

We were there in 205, Row E, seats 11 and 12, so I know how it looked and felt at the game. Were you so disappointed in the outcome you had to find someone to lash out at within an hour of the game ending?

Have a Merry Christmas and let the visions of a better year ahead float around in your heads.

And notice that, in the holiday spirit, I didn't give any "thumbs down" to anyone.

Know this is late - been tired since the 23 hours of travel door to door - but I just want to come here and say how proud I am to be a part of this fanbase. we showed up in MB - never gave up - everyone at halftime knew we had a run in us and kept the faith. it was loud as heck on our side. lot of folks at work have been asking me if I was disappointed with the game - obviously wanted to win, but I've told everyone about how much fun that was. it was fulfilling. CANNOT WAIT for next season. Cheers

I was happy to attend the game in person and was really impressed with the UConn turnout! I also did it as a single day trip so it was certainly a lot of travel time, but still was worth it to support these guys even seeing the loss. The university tailgate event was excellent and very well attended. Had the chance to connect with many UConn alums living in the South who attended, as well as a significant number of Connecticut fans who like me flew in and out for the day of the game. As others on here have said, it was about 50-50 in terms of UConn and Marshall attendance, which is a real achievement for a Monday afternoon game in South Carolina. Several Marshall fans commented how impressed they were with the UConn turnout. Another observation for folks who constantly complain about the Rent - Brooks Stadium was ok but Rent is significantly better in just about every respect.

We were in the fifth row, so you probably weren't the guy next to me with his daughter who's a student at Florida. She may be a student there but said she's a Husky fan and enjoyed the BB game!

Made the trek with two others, pulled into lot LL and we were out numbered 10 to 1. Herd green at most every parking spot made good neighbors quick after setting up. We were offered anything and everything from food to liqueur, my only request was they turn the music up. Was informed most UConn fans were in another lot, all good as they are a very friendly fan base.

Had seats on the fifty ten rows up, OK actually the 46 as the fifty @ Brooks Stadium is the isle.
Sat behind the family of coach Charlton and in front of coach Allen's. Wonderfully sociable folks and able to take the flak hurled out about play calling and execution by fans not realizing who was in ear shot. Someone apologized to Nicks wife about some fans comments and she replied basically, not a problem just part of the game. Great folks.
On attendance I had it at 60/40 possibly 55/45. Good crowd on the UConn side but Herd fans peppered here and there. Some seats opened up in the second half as we were making a come back and Herd fans must have moved from the jubilation to the other side.

On a side note funny of the game (sad actually) was two guys sitting behind us wearing UConn garb and very enthusiastic moved down a few rows in front of us on the isle for the second half. Not sure of why or if there was a earlier spitting match but another fan in UConn garb walked down the isle and from behind poured an entire beer on one of the mens head. It took a bit for the offended to realize what was happening by then the offender started to quickly walk away with the two in pursuit.
Another page in my book of things you just can't make up.

As for Brooks Stadium you can't get there from here (in the stadium) topic for another day.

Some may not know that some bowls have changed ticket allocation methodology...

Pretty decent explanation:

There was a day when Florida State and Oklahoma would have each been allocated and required to sell 15,000 or more seats to the Cheez-It Bowl. If you are a Florida State fan who didn’t get the number of tickets you requested, you are asking yourself why did the Cheez-It Bowl allocate only 4,800 tickets to Florida State and to Oklahoma?

“The landscape began to change six or eight years ago,” Florida Citrus Sports (FCS) CEO Steve Hogan said. “The allocation used to be 12,500 to 15,000 tickets.”

Instead of looking to the schools to sell large block of seats, the bowls are now taking responsibility for selling more on their own with year-round sales teams and in the secondary markets.

The new system, where schools get fewer tickets, generates more ticket revenue for the bowls, which means more money for the conferences and thus their schools.

So what happened?

All too often schools were unable to sell the seats they were required to sell to their fans, which cost the schools, conferences and bowls tens of millions of dollars in ticket revenue, not to mention stadiums with seas of empty bowl seats.

“The bowls were willing partners,” a bowl rep said. “The bowls wanted to build out their local sales staffs so they could sell into their local market throughout the year. And the bowls knew the power of the secondary market.”

It makes so much sense. It's really hard to get 10k people to travel for a non-NY6 game, especially to cold weather bowl sites like Boston, NYC, Boise, etc. Detroit at least has a dome but same concept.

Compared to most of the bowl games shown so far with few in the stands, ours was packed and lively. I think it was a win for the program.
