Thursday 1st Round games thread

Hope everyone saw that Auburn was playing in Birmingham and bet accordingly.
I did. Plus, that Auburn team may not be Pearl's most talented, but they play hard.

.-.
Hate to admit it, but with my South region pretty much fried, I kinda need Duke to go very far to have any shot at winning anything. I have them in FF.

17999 to go
None in any of the BY groups I'm in. We suck at this.

Willie Nelson must still be deep in delinquent tax debt to be pitching credit cards.

Iowa starting to hit some 3s. One or two more and this game will get interesting (I hope)

.-.
Auburn somehow milking the clock too early and playing out of control at the same time. And then not getting back on D.
Serious choke job over the last 5 minutes. And disappointing since I got them weeks ago at +1600 to make the Final Four.

If I was McCaffrey, I would never have Iowa play a straight up defense given how bad the team sucks on defense. Man traps, zone traps, 1-3-1, 3-2, basically anything but man-to-man or a 2-3. Just try to slow the opponent's scoring down enough so Iowa can shoot their way to a win.

.-.
Appropriate Duke scores 74 in their first game. They will lose the championship game 77-74

Fran McCaffrery no Sweet 16s in 10 appearances. Only coach in last 20 years with more than 5 wins and no S16s.

.-.
Colgate making a little run. Within 9 with 8 min to go, despite Texas shooting >60% from 3 and Colgate only 25%. Definitely looked like they've belonged. They'd probably have beaten a lot of teams based on this performance so far (definitely Arizona). Got jobbed with the seeding.

Got a kick out of this from ESPN's schedule for tomorrow's games:

wtg Greensboro, you hoops hot spot!

Texas just turned up the D ad Colgate got nothing for the next 6 minutes. Pretty glad I have them going deep. Strong D, veteran guards.
