Well well well. Looks like I was onto something here after all. Maybe this will spark another comeback but I doubt it. Boy all you mocking me and tearing me apart for this thread sure look smart now.

Congratulations! Tell him what he's won, Bob....why it's the smarmy jackarse award!

...except you caved and apologized about 5 minutes after making this thread.

The guy who knows what he's talking about award! THIS TEAM STINKS. It is unarguable at this point. We just lost to Houston and smu and were down double digits to both. That's a disgrace

wow! that is a prestigious award. now go upstairs and tell your mom that you won an argument on the internet while the rest of us draw something up that you can hang on the fridge.

Sorry that you were so hurt by being treated so harshly. I didn't think it was right, but now you can be happy with yourself as you have been vindicated. I however find it ludicrous that anyone calling themselves a Uconn fan could gloat the way you have after a lose. Uconn has now lost two games in a row, good for you. And I thought Coach Flood was an annoying poster...

Believe me I'm far from happy we are playing so poorly. But I think it's a little ironic that I get annihilated for pointing it out and three games later everyone is saying it

Realistically, this team could be looking at 8 more losses (2 each to Memphis, L'ville and Cincy, Harvard and another substandard road performance) in the regular season to finish at 20-11. 20-11 from the AAC is not going to get an NCAA bid.
I hope that is not the case but that is the level at which we have been playing the past month.

Team doesn't stink - lot's of personalities on this team that don't seem to be able to sustain consistent intensity. Even Shabazz seems to wander off until it's crunch time quite a bit. They're just not good enough to go into those lulls . On the road against less than name brand teams, I suppose I can understand. One isn't going to get as pumped up against Houston on the road as it would against Louisville. The talent on this roster can't afford to take any games for granted. It's a flawed team with some major limitations. No physicality, relies on the 3 pointer far too much, basically a finesse team. I honestly see almost no NBA talent on the roster. You'd think Daniels might based on size, but the kid is the anti Michael Jordan when it comes to competitiveness.

If there is anything this game is making me recognize, I will also wander off as a fan of a team playing in this conference. As a true first season in this hot mess, the reality has set in that I have absolutely zero interest in this league. It's becomes lightly depressing when I am almost driven to watch a great rivalry/real conference game like a Mich St/Indiana game over a Uconn/SMU. I'm starting to think the next win I will really care about for the Uconn program is getting out of the AAC.

I agree, it is hard to get excited about these games. The intensity is missing. Win or lose, I love intense games. Nothing was better than match ups with Pitt and Syracuse. Maybe it will come. Hope so anyway.

It's not going to come in this league. Going against programs that you recruit against, who attract the best talent, have storied programs with National Titles isn't going to magically appear in the AAC. The sad reality is that relevance will likely drift away like a tomato dies on a vine if this is a long term reality. How do you recruit great talent into this league unless you do it with the bags of cash/one and done philosophy? You can only find so many sleepers in this day and age of over information. The Butler scenarios do happen, but they're outliers and don't have long term sustainability to compete on a national level on an annual basis. Brand will carry for a little while, but not if the hoops program goes losing in the AAC.

Bottom line is we're a spoiled fan base and who can blame us? We've watched this program sky rocket like an internet stock with NBA players gallore, 3 NC's, a HOF coach in the best hoops conference in the country to this. The bubble has burst really hard. As much as I want to stay loyal, yada, yada to the programs rabid fanatacism, it's impossible in the current scenario. Maybe you're a better fan than me, but right now I feel like I've gotten used to the big leagues only to being forced to checked down to Triple A. And honestly, not to sound pompous, but as a dad, I have better things to do than carve out weekend time for SMU/Uconn. I expect ticket sales to plummet for Uconn men's basketball.

2 triple A teams just beat us. There is more parity on college hoops so we better take care of business where we are and not worry about where we may or may not be going. As far as rivalries, they are built on teams being competitive and beating each other but it takes time. Right now we owe both Houston and SMU.

Well then congrats you are both correct at this point and an a**wipe! Great job…...
