is getting weird
We have a game last night and no discussion of it
until a thread on CW is hijacked and some soul asks what the score was.

I must admit that for the 1st time in a decade, I haven't closely followed the early games...
Have an excuse: was in Europe, and sailing home...no internet.

Now I'm back, saw the replay today: Where is the analysis and discussion.

What's the point?
 
I too noticed that. I don’t follow the game time chats and miss having a consistent post game thread. Maybe we all have just not adjusted to the changed approach. Personally I liked the old way much better, but understand why it was changed.
 
yeah ... it almost seems like some new site for some 'in' crowd has drained the BY ... could be all these alternate techs?

There are no more game threads, we're now using the chat room. I can't answer the question about the post game threads except to say that there was very little drama in last night's game so there wasn't much chatter. The SJU game caused much more consternation and therefore more posts.

Monte, have to say this is getting very old from you? These 3 last games were on TV (Roku, Mobile or PC)...but not on the conventional channels (SNY....or CPTV :rolleyes:). You have known that you chose not to purchase the $29.99/month plan on FloHoops.

I don’t know if they went somewhere else, but I did look back to last year and there are some people who had interesting thing to say that don’t seem to post as much.

Norwegian Star is 93,000 tons
I think their bilge pumps work just fine.

What I find odd is that game threads for UConn games are not allowed, yet someone starts a thread on some other game and it sure gets to looking like a game thread! :confused:
 
I checked out the chat room.
Much prefer the old method of topics within the site
I understand that it was mandated that game time comments were moved to chat.
Why not mandate that once the game is over, only the site may be used.

Threads that discuss "other" ongoing games don't generate the traffic volume or content that have been problematic and led to the move to chat. If they ever did, we would likely have to do something about it but ...they don't. Not odd at all.

Because there is no need to do so?

For all games except the Purdue game I think, someone started a post game analysis thread. For whatever reason, no one did last night. Sorry if you feel inconvenienced but no one chose to start one.

Please feel free to start one after the games in the future if that's is what you want.

really not a misnomer ..... the term's use may have fallen into some disuse with the demise of cross atlantic crossings.

In my experience passenger ship departures have always been referred to as "sailings" ....

my very first sailing was NYC to Portsmouth UK as a 9 year old on the French Line's Flandre; and my second two months later on the Liberte Portsmouth to NYC

Yes. I like Bags. Its still early, the games really haven’t been televised. I keep checking CPTV and no dice. I’m waiting to make my donation.

Saturday night, after a blowout win, with college football games on TV seems like a reason for exhausted fans, who vented furiously all day about St Johns, to just move along. ;)

It's not a question of being inconvenienced.
It's rather what is the purpose of the site altogether.
if it's not for the express intention of discussing all aspects of UConn Woman's BB (and other related subjects, to include other leading teams)
...then what's the point?
The new system seems to have had the effect of reducing essential discussion.
Except where (as Rocky has noted), other teams are involved.

I disagree. There is nothing about the "new system" that discourages essential discussion.
