This is pretty amazing . . .

I plead ignorance...where/when was the first picture taken?
I don't have an Instagram account.

Azzi's joining Paige at Dallas has made me an instant Wings' fan. Hope they can surround these jewels with enough talent to help them compete. Actually looking forward to the WNBA season.

I love Azzi as a player but Dallas taking her was almost malpractice. Dallas needs a good, young big to go with Paige not another guard. What is it with Dallas and drafting guards anyway?

Probably because they were able to upgrade more substantially in the front court than the back court in free agency (in addition to their glowing valuation of Azzi).

Apparently you are not up to date with the Wings roster.
6'4" Alanna Smith via trade
6'4" Rayah Marshall via trade
6'4" Jessica Shepard via trade
6'7" Li Yueru, already on roster, via trade mid last year
6'6" Awak Kuieer #2 overall pick in 2021, left for 2 years, will be coming back this year

The Wings were last in the WNBA in 3 point shooting last year, so I don't think the pick was malpractice.

I really like the look of this roster. The front court (above) looks really good. And the backcourt looks good too. Best it's looked in years.

Last four #1 picks for in the WNBA draft
Thanks. For some weird reason I thought the first picture was taken a few years ago and was a coincidence that they all ended up as #1 picks in the WNBA drafts.
In other words, it wasn't a staged picture for this year's draft.

I don't follow the WNBA much but based on who they got in FA and we know the love Paige has for her fellow Huskies; heck she went out to visit Nika. They'd have to have been nuts not to take Azzi. You win championhsips with superstars - and Paige is "that.". They make everything fit. And as what some have pointed out they got some Bigs in FA. This pick keeps the superstar happy while Azzi fits in this lineup. Frankly, Azzi fits in any kind of lineup which makes her unique. I would think in 2027, the Wings would start to become formidable with additional draft picks and money in FA to spend to go after any shortcomings that exist. But having a co-DPOY caliber Big with a high powered offense including Azzi seems potentially formidable to me.

The crazy part of that picture, to me, is that Bueckers is the oldest player in that grouping (by mere months over Boston and Clark), yet she was taken as the #1 overall pick two WNBA classes after Boston. In fact there is a mere 1 year and 1 month age gap separating those four players. Boston/Clark/Bueckers are basically the same age and could have theoretically been part of the same draft class.
