Its a "look". Certain coaches have it in varying ways.

Hatchell is consistent in her shoulder pads, though she no longer looks quite as military as she used to. The assistant at Duke (Al Brown) wears bright colored sweaters. Naya Butts here in AZ wears a black suit jacket, black pants, and sneakers, usually with a white blouse. Etc.

Hatchell is still going through the last of her Elton John hand-me-downs from his 1981 tour..

Ha! You couldn't be more right.....as a HS teacher, I have a million ties. Only a couple of them are of high quality-all gifts from other people.
