Last week I was in a small restaurant outside of Jerusalem. It was my first visit to Israel and one of the items on my bucket list. I happened to be wearing my Uconn sweatshirt. I man with a yamica on his head walked by my table and said, "Go huskies". We talked for a while. He grew up in Orange and graduated from Uconn with a degree in law. He practiced in Washington D.C. for a while and has lived in Jerusalem for the last 17 years. His parents live in Orinoke Orchards in Stratford where my sister currently lives. He gave her his business card and asked her to call them when she returned to the states. He was very interested in Uconn basketball. Small world.

Pretty neat story!!

Hey is the golf course still up and running at Orinoke or did they build condo's on as rumored?

The last time I was in Jerusalem last year, I accidentally left my UCONN cap at the table in an outdoor restaurant. So somebody might be waling around with it on now over there.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, I'm pretty sure the golf course is still there. On the hill right near Sikorsky, right? I drive past the course every so often.

I'm not Jewish, but I'm pretty sure its " yarmulke". However, I think I like your spelling better.

Still there, played in October. Good friend of mine has just been named pro there. Will be playing there a LOT more.

I think you're right but if I used that word most would not know what I meant.
