If you read the first post and click on the link you will see that a Toledo reporter brought it up two days ago. We're just discussing it.
Thanks for stopping by though. From a Rutgers perspective, does it bother you at all that a lot fans find your addition to the Big 10 so reprehensible that they believe that it diminishes the Delany's reputation and legacy? Because that scathing a level of criticism and disdain sure seems like would leave a mark.
Not at all. It is what it is. We will never be respected and until we start doing our part and winning where and when it counts there will always be criticism. I have read the article, and completely understand why it was written to a certain extent, however how I see it, what's done is done. Now, we just move on, and start to do what we must in order to do what we have to do and compete.
For football, its taking some time for some odd reason or another. What happened several years ago certainly didn't help with the previous coaching staff. What happened last year certainly didn't help, on any abject level. Every and any one can complain, blow smoke, and spit across the room as much as they want. This is a results business, and as long as we are in the B1G, I'm at a point now where I'm saying spare me the BS, put up or shut up.
Basketball looks like it's turning the corner....it looks like that. The MBB team had certainly made some waves in the conference tournament last year, and continued the improvement this year. Although, I'm seeing steps, the most critical thing to me is those steps are forward not backward. The team was learning how to win, and in some tough situations, could not close out games, and now they're starting to do that. There is no quit on that team.
Wrestling continues to do it's part by competing and is consistently ranked and so is MLAX. It's a process, but we are slowly getting there. Albeit not as fast as some think we should, but it's happening.
So in reading that article, its nothing more than an opinion. Does it hurt? Of course! But I'm of the mindset of telling me what I need to hear rather than what I want to hear. I don't begrudge the author of how he feels, however, time will tell.
