If JF took the yards that were there in the Syracuse and Delaware games would have iced both games and be undefeated. Just inexplicable.

Will someone tell me, with the wealth of TE's on this roster, why stone hands Honig is the receiver of choice in the 4th quarter of tight games? Hansen was an immerging star last year and looked like a weapon for this year. Instead he is getting the Rosa treatment. All he does is catch the football. I can remember one missed ball that was more of a JF misdirection misfire
This. Hansen and Vereen are our best receiving tight ends. Honig had had some bad drops this yr, it is up to the coaches to dial up the right play with the correct personnel!

The lack of next step intelligence is astounding here.
@Chief00 and one of the main sources of lack of Intelligence is none other.... Than the source itself, I can only pray you have another aspect to your life. That rather than continuously posting silly things on this forum.
I wish you well in your obession.

And if he didn't target Bell you would be wondering out loud why he didn't try to get the ball to our best playmaker.
Huh? Mrs Fagnano, that doesn't answer the question. I do know if he did throw to Murphy it would have been back shoulder on a crossing route...

Of course, that’s part of putting together the best schedule for the program possible. I know there’s many challenges but 7 of our 12 games were either on ESPN+ (3) or no TV (4). The other 5 games were on CBSSN. To achieve our high level objectives we need a better TV outcome. Additionally, our University President needs to be more effective too networking in the Presidents Club to give us a better chance to land a top conference spot. At the end of the day her peer group are the decision makers.
When I look at what Dave’s done playing OOC national basketball games in TD North and MSG, I think he has done a great job of establishing our regional footprint for conference expansion in basketball.
Our marketing narrative in football needs to include better attendance, TV exposure and filters on games we play. To your point top conferences recent expansions with more conference games mean less schedule dates for us to compete for.

Show us your proposed schedule, oh mystical chief.

Wanna bet on those "no TV" games being broadcast on TV or online? I mean, I know interpreting the literal on websites has been a problem area for you, but I feel pretty safe on this one.

You understand that we can only schedule teams that are willing to schedule us?
I could be misreading here but I believe Chief believes we should have demanded that ESPN sell the rights to UConn/Buffalo to Fox so that Fox could flex it into Saturday night.

This is the level of accuracy and understanding many posters in this thread possess. Victor Rosa has zero fumbles in his UConn career and if he runs into his blockers - keep doing what you are doing because he has never average less than 4.5 yards per carrier in his UConn seasons.

Use Victor Rosa, The Football Database. They have Seasons game logs and a fumble subcategory. People should have stopped with you when you declared the 2018 team better than the previous year after the UCF game.

Is that at 11:11 Saturday night?

Eh. If that’s what he meant, it’s no less silly than the thought that we have the market power to pick the opponents the fan base would like us to play. I’ll give you an example — we had a good football rivalry with Rutgers. Haven’t played them since they left the American. I guaranty you that we would play them home and home whenever they want, and that the fact that it hasn’t happened means they don’t think it’s in their interest to spend one of their limited OOC games in any year against us.

One thing that could have really bitten us but wasn't called is a player kicking the ball. We had just stopped them and the ball was lying on the field and one of our DBs kicked it out of bounds. That is a 15 yard unsportsman penalty if the ref wants. Dumb thing to do. It could have been huge and very bad. Shouldn't happen.
Speaks to lack of discipline, which has been discussed in regards to our defenders a bunch of times.

what are you even talking about? All of our games are televised this year. Rice and FAU will likely be ESPN+ because they’re in the American, BC will be on an ACC network channel, and all our home games are on CBSSN

Yes, and there was no excuse for that one but I think that last year was great but it gave a little bit of a false impression because we won games like we lost in 2023. For example Temple was at the 2 and fumbled and we ran it back for a td. Win by 9 instead of losing by 4. UAB we had a fast and furious 2nd half comeback for the win. We beat an awful UMass team by 5. The 2023 team lost a bunch of close games. 1 on a missed extra point. Bottom line is we are a team that does not have a large margin for error. This year we split so far those close games. Playing smart is really important. We might have a blow out along the way but we likely won’t have too many.

i am known for takes hated by the BY (and which even I hate and I hope age like milk), but this chief thread that's going right now, is certified GOLD. Boneyard Hall of Fame material, right here

It’s all about time zones 😉

This thread has some of the dumbest BY posts ever. Per UConn website:

This thread collected a rare group of so many low basketball IQ posters in one place. Those who root against a home state RB, who averages 4.8 yards per carry and has scored 17 TDs and say whenever he touches the ball something bad happens.

@ZooCougar clueless about business take. Let’s take the 4th Dallas FW (SMU) and 6th Houston (UH) TV markets in the country back in UConn’s AAC days and have games on TV at 11am for those markets. And if someone who did business in Texas for years thinks it’s a bad idea, make a fool of yourself defending the 11am TV games.

You mean last season he had no fumbles when he basically didn’t play because he was 4th string and injured?

Amazing. No fumbles during a redshirt year.

He has 6 career fumbles in basically two seasons of play. That’s a ball security issue.
He has zero fumbles the last 10 games. His body is totally different than it was as a freshman/sophmore. Rarely does a freshman running back carry the load like he did. If you did your homework (which u don’t) you would know that. And you take a dumb take - he had 2 turnovers a season as a running back who had 14 TDs in those combined season and a 4.7 yard per carry during those two seasons.

Kickoff time and tv coverage usually isn’t announced until less than two weeks before the game. You should know that. Those games will be
ESPN+ isn’t TV. It is subscription and streams on a Smart TV using the ESPN app, streaming apps such as Hulu etc . True teams that don’t make real TV call it that, but it is what it is.

Once, but he got saved by a penalty.

You’re crashing out Chief!
So you override the universal score keeping rules by using zero expertise, and the guy who thinks you are nuts is crashing! Lol

In this day and age... not every game is going to be on linear, even the men's basketball team played 3 games on Peacock last year and the Big East's contract calls for 25 regular season, all first round and the early quarterfinal games in the Big East tournament to be streamed.

It is what it is, it's overflow for games that wouldn't have otherwise been televised; better than having no coverage at all, on the bright side AAC ESPN+ production (for football only) is handled by ESPN, so it should be better than the mediocrity that some C-USA broadcasts have brought. It's also a vehicle that some media companies have used to offer slightly more money to conferences in exchange for the conference agreeing to put some more desirable content behind the paywall to drive subscriptions.

This has been debunked above. I'm so sick of Victor's little pack NVL fanboys crying about his lack of touches.
LOL. You have won the Chief v Zoo exchange. Chief has come out of nowhere and fallen from the sky outta the BB Board.
Rosa can be dynamic, but my heart is in my throat when it’s pitched to him. There is a place for him but not at 1 or 2 RB.
( just to be clear though, Bristol Central not NVL.)

Rosa looks like a better runner this year than his freshman year, stats don't show that. Not sure why he is getting so much less burn, seems to cut up field much better. Others are just better or Mora and team have other issues (fumbles, blocking). Nice to have two backs better than Rosa, things happen in games, he will get his chance to show out. It's a long season to go.

Chief are you just having trouble admitting that you don’t know how to find the ESPN app and that you don’t have a Smart TV.

Tell that to the conferences, who call streaming "TV"
