IMO she isn't a "Back to the basket" post center and could've played a lot of power foward for the Sky. Just think of her and Fowles together in the paint!
She likes to face the basket and dribble a lot. If she could set picks and dish passes like Dolson she would "up" her game considerably.

If anything Fowles, probably would have ended up playing the 4.

Speaking of which, Fowles and Delle Donne BOTH expected to start tomorrow against the Sun!

Good news!

Fowles seems to me to be more of a true low post center. I could be wrong but that's what I think I saw last year. I went to 2 games in DC when the Sky came to town.

Nope, it would have been Griner at the four on offense. Griner has much better range on her shot than Fowles. She can step outside the paint more readily (and with much greater accuracy) than Fowles.

The Sky have already talked about using her at the 4 some so they can use her with Goodlett and Gatling and leave Delle Donne at the 3. Not sure if it will take, though.

I went several times to see her play - Columbia for example is a school in their conference, and just up the street from me. Each time I went, she was side lined for one thing or another. I believe I may have seen her once....But I did watch video of her work ethic and was very impressed. I just wasn't sure she could translate this to the WNBA, hence my skepticism. I was glad to be proven wrong.

Goodness Rady, my wife and I went to Columbia one of the games she didn't play; about 200 or so there, sorry I missed you.
I also went to Princeton and Delaware and watch her televised home games (free) as well as discussed coaching choices with the local newspaper…Always thought she was the real deal.

Is anything wrong with Vandersloot? She was sitting on the bench a lot late in the last game.

That's a different thing than if Griner would've went to the Sky rather than EDD.

Not physically. She was playing worse than her backup, Faulkner. That's happened a few times this year. Since Delle Donne's absence, she has been very shaky. Not sure if it's cause and effect or just coincidence.

Also, Prince can initiate the offense when Faulkner is in so Pokey can use Faulkner's skills in getting to the rim with out sacrificing having an experienced pilot for the offense.

Of course. It just reflects an organizational belief that Fowles can play the 4, which was the (admittedly thin) basis for my opinion.

Faulkner's has been playing pretty good for a rookie all season. Great season for WNBA rookies this year!
