Maybe the parallel will be in the rings. And then there was a pretty good sixth man added the following year. We don't have a top 10 player coming in 2013...I don't think there are many parallels.
DT came in two years later.... not one. KJ was the only recruit to come in for 2000. Was she the 6th man you were referring to? Also, to the original poster.... Sue, Swin, Tamika, and Asjha are the ones we know and love, as part of one of our best recruiting classes ever..... but Kristen or Kreisten, I always forget how to spell her name.... she was actually ranked higher than Sue Bird coming into to UCONN. I wonder what she would have been like without injuries. Just like I wonder where Caroline would be today has she not been injured or Heather had she not been sick her first year and did not injure herself against Brittney last year. She was making huge strides and then she hit the wall.....And then there was a pretty good sixth man added the following year. KeirstenWalters. She was ranked 13th and Bird was 18th. (per Bluestar)Also, to the original poster.... Totally agree with this. The team and even coaches have made comments that the 3 freshmen are playing like sophomores or juniors already. That's a pretty stunning compliment given that players like Tina didn't "get it" till midway thru their junior years, and as good as the 3-headed monster was, there were very few games until their senior year where all 3 of them played great at the same time.Breanna, Moriah, and Morgan are more ready for high level college ball than most frosh, even many prior UConn frosh. They will be key players this year. It's as if we got 3 talented juniors who somehow have 4 years of eligibility. And, in some ways, they are pushing the others.

Dammit, that was supposed to be an "8", not a 1. SOrry. The TypistTONY: And, he tells a mighty fine joke.
ALL: In that vein, don't forget the big SNY show tonight launching the new season with Coach and others. I think it runs at 7 but could be I.
runs from 7-9.Dammit, that was supposed to be an "8", not a 1. SOrry. The Typist
Hmmm, we'll have to see how it plays out over time. The 2000-2001 team had 9 WNBA players on it, 5 Olympians. And that doesn't include Shea Ralph who was a Kodak 1st Team AA, and BE POY.IMO this is the greatest assembleage of players on one team in the history of WCBB and they are because of Geno and his coaching staff.

One of?
The best, no doubt.
The best perhaps in WCBB history.
Sue Bird's Blue Star ranking was a complete joke. Only reason that turd Flynn ranked her there was that she spurned his AAU team for a competitor. Everyone knew Sue was in the top 2 or 3 of that class, along with Swin. I also thought Williams was ranked too high at #1, probably another Flynn mistake.KeirstenWalters. I had a list at one time of the Bluestar's "ranked too high" and "ranked too low" over the years. There have been quite a few that they missed. Not always accidental either it seems.Sue Bird's Blue Star ranking was a complete joke. Only reason that turd Flynn ranked her there was that she spurned his AAU team for a competitor. Flynn had two huge mistakes back around the same time with two #1 rankings. One was Nicole Kas (sp?) who was I believe one year behind Bird, and another Long Island product, very talented but her father screwed her all up and she turned out to be a bust. And I think the following year, Flynn gave his #1 ranking to a big girl named I think Nina Smith from Iowa, who also turned out to be a bust. Both of these kids probably benefited their rankings from playing on Flynn's AAU team. What a coincidence!I had a list at one time of the Bluestar's "ranked too high" and "ranked too low" over the years. There have been quite a few that they missed. Smith and Kazmarski were both 98-99. Nina #1 and Nicole #2. Yea I remember them. I think we were looking at Kazmarski since she was pretty local. Smith went to Wisconsin I think and Kaz ended up out in UCLA.Flynn had two huge mistakes back around the same time with two #1 rankings. (some may recall that Nina Smith, at Flynn's suggestion, hosted Gillian Goring for a while while Goring was attempting to get her academic situation straightened out. That did not workout well either.)
