There is a photo of Capt. Sobel in the middle of Ambrose's book. Schwimmer is a dead-on match for him. Same for Ron Livingston (Capt. Nixon).

I still think of Livingston as Nix. And he's been good in several things since.

One of the best casting jobs has to go to Jaws. Scheider, Dreyfuss and Shaw were perfect. The Mayor was very good too.
