The Official 2026 New York Jets Thread

Fair to assume this is a troll. The Jets make enough mistakes without people having to make crap up.

I think it is a troll, but it doesn't mean it isn't something a non-Jets fan would think they'd do. That is where the franchise is at the moment.

ok…so day 1 was OK. I have to admit that in general Mougey seems to make logical moves. Not overpaying. And I like that AG is focusing on leadership and intangibles. It felt like in the past it was all about getting younger guys on their first or second contract. Mixing in some respected veterans is a good idea. Glenn needs to stabilize the defense.

But…major questions still on offense. Especially the offensive lline. I would have liked to keep AVT or Simpson….but I get why they didn’t want to give AVT 3 years. They really need to find a guard. I was also hoping they could find a WR2 or WR3…that will now probably end up coming from the draft.

And the qb situation is only slightly clearer. The options are dwindling. The next day or so should be interesting.

So…they have 4 picks in the top 45 or so. You have to think at this point it will probably be Edge, WR, OG and maybe CB?

Let's not forget, the Jets passed over Pat Mahomes because they thought they had their franchise QB in Christian Hackenberg. I wish that was a joke, but it's the truth. Hackenberg never threw an NFL pass. They took Jamal Adams over him (and also passed on Christian McCaffrey two picks before Adams).

I didn't mind them not resigning AVT. Guy simply can't stay on the field and it's very, very rare that someone who played 7, 5, 15 and 0 games the last 4 seasons all of a sudden becomes dependable the next 3 years. To be honest, I'm puzzled by the Pats moves so far there. They trade their starting center Bradbury, they don't pony up enough for Linderbaum and sign an oft-injured AVT, especially after Campbell was awful in the postseason and the entire line didn't protect Maye.

OK…so the NFL signing period is very odd.

Players that are released by their teams…can’t sign with another team until 4pm Wednesday March 11th. But….if the team announces they have been released…they can sign now.

So…that’s why Tua has signed…and Geno and Kyler have not.

Jets Athletic beat guy feels pretty confident the Jets will sign Geno. He said there is no interest in Cousins. And he doesn’t think the Jets are interested in giving up what they have to give up for the trade options (Brissett, McFee, Jones, etc,)

One thing I forgot to consider…if they sign Geno….it will be for league minumum because the Raiders are paying him. Cousins would cost them more.

Oh please…there were about 20 quarterbacks the Jets have passed on the past 20-30 years that would have made a difference.

I call it the curse of Marino.

The Pats drafted Wilson last year, who was regarded as the top Center in the draft. He fell further than he should have. He was always going to be the starting center this year, glad we got a 5th for Bradbury. With a 2nd year center and LT, AVT slots in nicely at LG, where he hasn't missed any time. Campbell was good before his knee injury and honestly shouldn't have come back.

Jets with a nice move picking up Davis, but they certainly haven't done much for a team with a lot of needs. Tanking for a QB again it seems.

disagree…they signed impact players at all 3 levels and they did so without giving out huge contracts. They still need to work on the offense (OG, WR)…and kicker, but I think they did a good job of helping the defense. Even the Athletic today called out the Jets for doing a good job to improve the defense.

Interesting…just when I didn’t think we would hear anything until tomorrow…they make the trade. CImini stated they were worried that the VIkings would be in play. I guess they really wanted Geno. II hope that Reich is on board with this.
