The Official 2025 New York Giants Thread

Fire his ass already, the only reason to watch was to watch Dart he shouldn't play another game under Daboll. Whatever screw the Giants go UConn.

Daboll declining a penalty to give the Giants 1st and Goal from the half yard line to take a made FG is just absolutely insane and complete coaching malpractice. I know losses are better at this point but Daboll and Bowen have cost the Giants 3-4 wins already this year
Wouldn’t it still have been 4th and goal?

Yeah but it would be like 4th and 6 inches. Numbers say go for it. If they wiff Bears need 99 yds. The biggest problem is down 3 Daboll picks plays to run out the clock not win the game

Couldn't believe they didn't fire him on Monday after the Broncos collapse but at least they didn't wait until the end of the season. Now please hire a real coach, we haven't had one since Coughlin.

I want to use the Patriots as exhibit a in what can be accomplished if you have an adult on charge.

They also displayed that a change in regime won't necessarily hinder a QB entering his second year.

The Pats whiffed on Mayo and Mac Jones. And you don't know what Vrabel would be doing if it weren't for Maye. A good QB covers a lot of warts.

A bad regime can destroy any QB.

I personally believe that the Darnold we've seen the past couple of seasons could have happened with the Jets if they had a competent staff.

I also believe that Dart has the potential to be viewed on the same level as Maye. That will depend on what the next staff does in developing him (and the remainder of the offense).

Mac was the right pick, just didn't pan out and the staff didn't help. Vrabel has rebuilt the defense and the results of the draft have been spectacular. Even Woodson has a 90% snap rate and is playing really well for a 4th round safety. The tone and professionalism are just night and day different. Mayo was in way over his head.

No obvious choices for the Giants. I think one of the DCs is most likely. Shula, Anarumo, Minter, but I suspect the firing is to find out if Kafka is the guy.

Good QBs covered Dabolls in Buffalo and dare I say Bellichek's too ( a name AI likes to conjure up for the Giants job - uggh)

Now what to do about Schoen? He is responsible for putting this mess on the field. Forget the O line which has never been good enough to keep QBs from risking their lives the D is like tissue paper. His talent evaluation fails include Neal, Jones, Barkley, Hyatt, McKinney, to name a few.

Mayo was a ridiculous hire, I said that at the time.

I could also look at them and say....

2 great wins against 6-3 Buffalo and 6-3 Tampa Bay.
Games they should win against garbage teams Carolina, Miami, Cleveland, New Orleans and Tennessee.

A winning record sure makes things look "spectacular" and ooze "professionalism". Don't forget, Daboll won Coach of the Year.

If it were up to me Schoen would be gone as well.

While a couple of moves (most notably Burns) were very good, there were a couple of premium misses (Neal, Banks) that negate a good amount of what we got out of Burns and in all candor, the hits in the first round (Nabors, I'll give the benefit of the doubt for Thibodaux and for the incomplete rating on Carter) were picks that a trained seal could have made and succeeded on.

Dart and Skattebo were great picks as well.

Banks is a miss but if Schoen doesn't get credit for obvious consensus picks in Thibodeaux or Carter that have looked great then it's not fair to knock him for an obvious consensus pick that failed in Neal

I'm not sure about Thibodaux and Carter. They are good edge rushers but overplayed the run so many times. On D it seems that guys like Lawrence and Okereke have also regressed

Thibideaux and Carter have not looked good against the run
