The more I watch….

The more I wish we got by Florida. We were coming into our own and playing well. Looking at the field now, we were pretty solid.

I’m very proud of our guys. We had the Gators down and this field is not that good. We were the better team that day. The second half free throw disparity hurt. Oh, well. At least we went down swinging. It’s nice to see such a marginal UConn team be so competitive against a very good team in the tourney. Hurley has us very strong, even in a “down year”.

Just doesn’t look like any of these teams are really that good. I understand why Hurley thinks if we won that game we could’ve made a run to the championship. I thought he was just blowing smoke, but, most of these teams are a mess.

I’m all in now on Houston as the best team. I’m starting to think it will come down to who is the best coach. Sampson and Izzo are in good shape vs these clowns.

If we had last year’s team we’d wax this years field too. That being said, we weren’t that far off from making a run with this up and down season.

I don't think we had any serious chance at winning the championship but we could've made the final 4 with the path we would've had if we closed it out against Florida. I think we were just too flawed and inconsistent, those scoring droughts always showed up at some point and the defense couldn't be trusted for a 6 game run.

It was hilarious how posters were looking at these other teams before the tournament started and were saying they play a different sport than us.

UFs worst matchup was probably UConn in the entire field. Duke is also very good with all the talent they have, but I do expect them to get handled eventually when they play a good squad. Houston is solid and a menace defensively (they would dismantle UConn). I remain unconvinced about Auburn, though I don’t know why I don’t like them. There is just something about them I don’t like, in terms of them being a good team.

I think UF can beat them simply because I think Clayton is the best clutch shooter in the tournament and UF should be able to keep it close for that to matter. I also think UF will have a much easier time defending Duke than they did UConn bc Dukes sets are much more basic.

I think Alabama is actually going to beat Duke. Kind of strange to say, but that elite 8 game may really end up being the National Championship. I think whoever wins that Duke/Bama games wins the whole thing.

All I know is this lower level UConn team could have been better if Tahaad Pettiford chose UConn (facepalm). He killed Creighton and he is lighting up Michigan. He is on a heater.

Nothings guaranteed. Getting by Maryland, Texas Tech and likely Auburn as well as one of Duke, Bama, Tennessee or Houston would be a tall order. Toughest path yet IMO from round of 32 and on.

I think a Diarra with two healthy knees would have made a difference.

I realize Samson and Diarra are done and Nowell and Abraham have declared for portal. Not sure how the scholarships shake out with who’s gone and who’s comin in and whether that leaves room for big PG transfer, but would love to see this group get another bite at the apple.

While a lot of the remaining teams are not overly impressive, our margin of error was so incredibly small. The flaws, even in our best day against Florida, were not going to go away. We still had a lack of guys who could handle and penetrate, we still were overly dependent on extremely streaky shooters, and were still prone to mental lapses. A sweet 16 would’ve been Golden (pun intended), but our collective issues were still going to be an issue.

Imagine a great in bounds play helps Houston advance? They went to the 3rd option to make the game winning lay in. We would’ve stayed with our 1st option throw it 50ft to the backcourt.

Just don’t want Duke to win but they’re real good. Houston’s defense is real good but they don’t score enough to win this I’m afraid. Can’t stand Auburn but they get as many calls as Duke so that would be interesting. With what’s left im rooting for the Gators or Vols.

We had our chances especially from the perimeter which I didnt think they defended very well against us or Maryland. I have Duke beting them in the finals. Yes Duke is very young but Cooper Flagg - wow

The only thing Duke hasn’t seen is a team that can really pressure the ball. They have any combo of James, Proctor or even Flagg taking the ball up the floor. Flagg had plenty of issues early in the year having ball poked away in his dribble. Without a real PG out there that could cause some trouble. Them vs Houston or Tenn will be fun. They are really good.

We couldn’t have won it all but Maryland/TT would have been very winnable as two teams seeing us for the first time. So close.

Of course they have room for a big PG transfer. As it sits right now they have 8 players with eligibility left still on the roster. I would guess 3-4 of those 8 will not be back. Then we have 4 incoming recruits. They're going to need more than just a big PG from the transfer portal.

If they don't get a PG transfer who do you think will be the starting PG with what's left on the roster and the 4 incoming recruits? Mahaney? I'm surprised at your question. This is easy.

It is just hard for me not to be biased against Duke….so I am not even going to try. I hate them almost as much as I love the Huskies and that is all I have to say about that…….
