If you recruit delusional players, you're gonna get delusional players.Feels like something the coach is ultimately responsible for…
The issue is not Mick being a lunatic, it's Mick attacking the character of his players (who he recruited and coaches) and claiming that he doesn't have anything he needs to accomplish.I mean, I am all about calling a spade a spade. But I don’t think we can sit here and throw stones in a glass house when the rest of the country thinks Dan is essentially the same guy. The delusional comments would never come from Hurley, but let’s not say he’s above a good sideline tantrum himself.
Hate him or not, Cronin is better than a middling coachA lot of middling coaches can rack up 500 wins, but he acts like that’s all he needs to accomplish. Ironic to say your players think they’re better than they are
It’s is a lot more fun when you have a few old school nuts out there, brings you back to the days of unfiltered and authentic pressers, some personality to the sport. Too many times coaches go PC in today’s world, which is canned boredom. I'll take the elf, at least he's interesting. It’s LA Mick, what do you expect. LA is not a place to find hungry dogs that want the bone. That location is about 3,000 miles east and a little north of LA.
I am not a Cronin hater because he has had a fairly good career and let’s be honest it was always fun to watch him kind of implode when he played Calhoun’s team and we always found a way to beat him.
There were a few times back then that he looked so mad during the game that I thought he was just going to literally explode.
A coach who says "I have almost 500 wins so I don't need to do anything else" probably shouldn't be criticizing his players for being delusional.“I mean I don’t need to do anything else, I almost have 500 wins…”
Cronin,
You’re a soft weasel who’s always thought you were better than you are. You’re smug, arrogant, and most likely a nightmare of a mentor to your players.
Signed,
A man with eyes and a brain.
Ps. Your players and coaches know this too
I remember Jim Calhoun telling his players he cared more about winning then they do and criticizing them that they needed to have passion.Without knowing more, I'd be willing to bet that most of what he said is true. Is it a great tactic? I don't know, but he's had a good (not great but good) career, so he deserves some leeway. But as far as he recruited the players, yup, he did. So he's responsible, and if he thinks this is the best way to motivate them we should judge by the results.
