Just watched this on HBO and I didn't really enjoy it. I thought Phoenix was great, but the movie couldn't hold my attention and seemed to drag.
My college-age daughter figured I wouldn't enjoy it because I was "White and privileged." When I said it had no plot, she said "The whole movie was a metaphor for today's society." I guess I'm an idiot. I told her I would watch it again with her.
