The Injury List

Yacine Diop also had a knee injury for Louisville. Any update in that?

Aysia Bugg for Pitt is also out for the season, her second in a row. She was their best player.

Texas --- Lashann Higgs, probable ACL, awaiting report / Sedona Prince, broken leg / Joyner Holmes, ankle surgery

I'm glad we have this thread so I can go to one place to see all the injuries, but man I HATE seeing the thread populated with info... Best wishes for a speedy recovery for ALL these young student athletes...

Wow...Texas and Louisville lose key contributors early on. Sad to see.

Side note about Texas...last year it looked like they'd be overloaded with talent, but since this time last year they've lost:

Boothe-transfer, #3 recruit in 2017
Patterson-transfer, #4 recruit in 2017
Holmes-injury, #2 recruit in 2016
Higgs-possible ACL, #7 recruit in 2015
Prince-broken leg, #8 recruit in 2018

That is a whopping 5 former top 10 recruits they've lost to transfer or injury. I know we all rip on Aston, but that is an insane amount of talent to lose in a short period.

ACL confirmed. Condolences to our Longhorn friends.

it'[s a damn good thing that Texas has such a deep bench.....................they'd barely be able to field a representative team at some schools with all of those injuries to important players..........

Unfortunate, but exactly what I expected after she re-injured the shoulder against Iowa.

She looked to be in terrible pain when she reinjured her shoulder vs UConn. Hopefully, she comes back 100%

sorry to hear that................I guess the good news is that it's early enough in the season to get a full red shirt...................will she be recovered in time for the start of next season?

When Turner had her shoulder surgery done, they said that you couldn't touch a basketball for 6 months after surgery. Still, Turner had hers done after her sophomore season and was ready to go by opening day of her junior year.

Unless the injury is way more severe than Turner's, I assume she'll easily be recovered in time for next season.

Knock on wood, Katlyn Gilbert will recover fully from this and be able to come back in time for the 2019-20 season. Interestingly, as pointed out on the Bench, she'll be a 4-year hoops classmate of her good friend (from AAU ball), Anaya Peoples. This is one instance where two friends did go to the same school.

Good luck, Katlyn.

Kat Tudor out for the season for Oregon State. Nadia Fingall out for the season for Stanford.

Is it official for Tudor? Everyone was pessimistic on Benny's House but I hadn't seen any official news. Tough break, I really enjoy watching Kat play. Bad news for Stanford. too. This was a brutal weekend. These injuries were all on Friday night I believe.

Sadly,

what an awful season this has been for serious injuries and it's not even half over yet...................teams better have good depth or their post season expectations may be dashed...........

Sadly,

Kat is known for her 3-point shooting, but Kat is really going to be missed on the defensive side of the ball. Kat has turned herself into a very good defender, including an excellent defensive rebounder. Fortunately, OSU still has solid 3-point firepower with Slocum, Pivec, McWilliams, Corosodale, & Goodman. Kat's tough play is what will be missed.

What a rash of season-ending knee injuries in the past few days:
  • Grace Hunter, NC State
  • Daneesha Provo, Utah
  • Kat Tudor, Oregon State
  • Nadia Fingall, Stanford
Ugh :(

Pac 12 schools in particular had a disastrous weekend on the injury front.

I posted this in another thread a few days ago because I couldn’t find this thread. But in the Alabama State game a couple games ago. Emari Jones a key player for Auburn tore Her ACL. She was a senior so Her Career at Auburn is over with.
