I still maintain the rivalry personally but I’m not a fan of the kid getting injured as soon as March Madness starts. That’s just diabolical.Wow, both unfortunate and fortunate if we get put in their bracket. I'd feel worse if our 5 start didn't miss a month.
No, it's not something you want to see at all, but injuries are part of the game. The wild thing about the college hoops season is that injuries can change a seed line (us) or even disallow a team getting into the tourney (Xavier). Matchups and paths can change materially and have impact on how far a team goes in the tourney.I still maintain the rivalry personally but I’m not a fan of the kid getting injured as soon as March Madness starts. He's probably going to be fine. He's on the bench without a boot.I'm in myrtle with a Duke fan and he's devastated. They are passionate fans and this is heartbreaking news. That kid was a key piece to the development of this tourney and the fact that the world won't see him in this environment is a shame.
Idk - this doesn’t look good. That is a major stretch of the ankle. I bet he feels it in the morning, probably juiced up on adrenaline right now. He's probably going to be fine. He's on the bench without a boot.
I may have overreacted. My friend looked like his dog died. Hope it all works outHe's probably going to be fine. He's on the bench without a boot.
Liam didn't look bad at first either. He's probably going to be fine. He's on the bench without a boot.
IMHO we struggle against efficient defenses and we are terrible at defending the three. Houston and Duke fit both those criteria's so of the good teams I am most concerned about them. Other teams that give us match up problems are St. Johns, BYU, Clemson (an underrated team this year), and Texas Tech. The only team I'm truly scared of in this tourney. I know there are other teams that can pose problems for us and everybody else but I think when the brackets come out my eyes will instinctively go looking for that 4 letter word.
Question:
Do we want them in our bracket?
The surface answer is probably not, but...I see a lot of comments in the chats and in the yard where some want us to be tested.
Where would we be if we faced Duke second round....and won?
This is an open question about how you feel about us and them this particular year. I know we have to deal with the BET first, but I keep seeing 8 seed with little wiggle room. So let's look ahead for one day.
People always say it's tough to beat the same team three times in a season. What about four if we meet St. John's in the NCAA Tournament? That would be crazy.IMHO we struggle against efficient defenses and we are terrible at defending the three. Small minded wimpUConn lost to Seton Hall and Colorado. We should be afraid of every team.
.... again!Play through Duke and you know we have a shot to go all the way. Can’t be afraid to take on the best if you want to be the best. Plus I hate them and there would be nothing better than to ruin their coronation.
well, we didn't beat them the first two times this year so I think the likelihood of beating them four times in one season is pretty much zero.
Remember Kenyon martin and cincy some years back ???No, it's not something you want to see at all, but injuries are part of the game. They moved to AZ with Bobby.I thought Duke's entire fan base was in New Jersey
I mean them beating us four times....
I'm far more concerned with Florida than Duke. Florida has the kind of quality depth we had during the last two NCs. And from what I've seen, no real weakness. For what it's worth , ESPN has UConn as an 8 seed (West) playing New Mexico in round 1 and with a win they would most likely play Florida ..
Florida looks scary. Illinois looked unreal tonight also. There are finally healthy and were very impressiveI'm far more concerned with Florida than Duke. Florida has the kind of quality depth we had during the last two NCs. And from what I've seen, no real weakness.
The "hard to win three times" is a myth. 70% of the time the team that was 2-0 won in cbb since 1998.People always say it's tough to beat the same team three times in a season. What about four if we meet St. John's in the NCAA Tournament? That would be crazy.
We don’t want Florida at all, they are loaded. I’ll say it again, we want Houston.I'm far more concerned with Florida than Duke. Florida has the kind of quality depth we had during the last two NCs. And from what I've seen, no real weakness.
I wouldn’t exactly call Duke an easy route without Flagg.Nah Bro!!!!! We flat out dominated, and put in blue collar work for two championships in a row. Flagg getting hurt isn’t good for the sport, but I’ll gladly take ANY easy route, high sorcery, witch craft , plague, voodoo, hoodoo, leprechaun shenanigans, etc. if it gets us a three-peat. Say what you want.
