This whole storming the court fine process seems so easy to manipulate and promote.
So, there's a $5k price tag for a court storming and UConn can donate it to a charity of its choice.
Easy fundraising opportunity to have people donate to a specific fund to pay the fines. Donate enough and you can have the fine named after you. The "Joe Smith Villanova Win Court Storming Fine payable to Boys and Girls Club of Hartford".
Make T-shirts out of it to promote a specific game for a court storming for a cause. Beat the Little Sisters of the Poor third week of November? Cool. Let's start a "Blah Blah Blah Food Bank Stuff the Grocery Bag" court storming event.
Only way this fine makes sense to me is if the conference or the opponent picks the charity or if each school submits a list of charities and the conference does a 1980's NBA style draft lottery where they pick a charity out of the ball hopper.
