-> 83. UConn: Most of the pieces return from an explosive offense that powered a nine-win season.

This list is a load of nonsense. We dropped 30 spots from last year's list, and we are a better team. We should be ranked mid-50s.
Given the amount of roster turnover on defense, I think it’s fair we drop some but I’d say around 70 feels right until we see them in action. These preseason lists are a true guessing game with all the transfers

50s or 70s doesn’t much matter. Ultimately how the team finishes matters a heck of a lot more than how they start. Based on your schedule UConn should be favored in as many as 8-9 games which was unthinkable just a few years ago. Enjoy the return to respectability.

Thanks so much for the reassurance.

Been waiting for this to post. Had to wade through some weird copy/paste crud. Here's our slate for the upcoming season. Let them sleep on us. I'l do the weekly updates with +/- starting in week 1.

Buffalo is becoming a bit of a media darling. A lot of people seem to be forgetting what UConn did to them last year lol

  • Delaware is not 128th. I suspect they are much better than the podcasters think.
  • Buffalo went 9-4 last year? holy moly i thought they'd tank after what we did to them. That game could be dangerous for us.

How does a predicted 4-8 UCF team get ranked ahead of us?
They fired Malzahn and hired Frost. There's some excitment about the season for them. I don't necessarily think they should be ranked higher than us, but that's probably why.

Ucf did win a national title in football recently They have the rings to prove it.

Here we go, sports fans. Here are the rankings of UConn and opponents. Sorry, The Athletic doesn't have a share option. I'll post each week results here.

(Note - if any copy/paste errors, please forgive. I'm on the road, en route home to FL from a glorious 2 months in the great state of CT)

And on edit - why does it seem like every time Syracuse loses, they never move at all?

Week 2 results - Four of top 25 (in The Athletic rankings) lost - Arizona State, Michigan, Florida, and SMU. Duke among the biggest losers this week. UConn still holding steady at "4th place" among opponents. Poor Florida got Gramatica-ed.

(note that undefeated teams' scores will copypasta as X-1, so hopefully I caught them all)

Week 3 results - 5 of top 25 The Athletic 136 lost - ND, Clemson, USF, SC, and TN. Oh how the mighty hav fallen, Clemson.

UConn drops to 7th place among opponents. Our (not) friend northeast of us was the biggest loser. Delaware is the biggest winner.
