Unlike the NYT, there's no way to gift articles from The Athletic. Boo.

Ranking 134 college football teams entering 2024, from Ohio State to Kennesaw State

We ended at #120 last year and that's where we'll start. I was on the road when GT beat FSU, so I'm thinking we'll see a lot of "upsets" this year. If there are any "friends" we should track, just let me know. :D

Here's hoping you are right... but, one thing GTech had going for them was that they played FSU on a neutral site...

Good morning sports fans. UConn down 11 to 131. Here are the latest Athletic rankings of our opponents, along with the biggest movers, +/-. Loses shaded in red.

ESPN PREDICTOR has UConn -80.4 against Duke on schedule for Duke. Has them as the easiest game left on Dukes schedule. "Old Guy" thinks bulletin board material...Go Huskies!

Post week-3 opponents rankings from The Athletic. Also showing biggest movers +/-. Wherefore art thou FSU ...
Georgia State moves up a whopping 74 places. UConn moves up 1 and Duke down 4. So there.

(I'll be out of the country for the next two Mondays, so I'll try to capture the lists and post when I'm back.)

Hey gang - a different look for today, as I'm slogging thru emails, etc, after being away for a few weeks. If there are any errors, bear with me while I get back into the swing of things. Also, the cut/paste creates some funky things with teams that are undefeated, so if any are wrong, I'll try to catch it next week (for you data geeks, it pastes as a date, so undefeateds show one loss).

First, here's a look at movement of our opponents. For week 5 & 6, green is up, red is down. Clearly, our Huskies are trending in a good direction.

See y'all on Monday with opponent score updates and new rankings.

One game skews the perception. No way Maryland is only 16 teams better than UConn and no way UConn is only 4 teams better than Buffalo. But per this rating method that's what it is.

Maryland is a mediocre school that got beat by Michigan State and Indiana. Oregon boat raced Michigan State last night. Duke is not good. Duke has played no one so far. Barely got by NC at home when NC got lit up by JMU previous week at home. I could see Duke ending up 500 by the end of the year. They play much better teams in the back end of their schedule.
