The 2025 journey begins…

"I like the depth of the Huskies offensive line room. Plenty of good competition at both tackle spots and inside at guard. The Huskies are deep upfront."

If this is anywhere close to being true, UConn can do some damage this season. We have weapons.

I feel so hype for UConn football today. Last season was amazing, especially beating UNC in the bowl game. Now we bring home another WBB trophy. Maybe I'm just riding a high right now, but I just feel like Mora is going to be THAT COACH for UConn football.

I feel very happy about last season although Evers playing the entire game against Wake really had my head shaking in frustration at the time.

Thing is, in this era of hiring almost a half a team every off season, I reflexively curb my enthusiasm every spring. But you would have to think that good players gravitate to better teams and last year's record has to help the UConn portal transfer quality. Nonetheless I keep reminding myself that past performance may not be indicative of future performance. And hoping against hope there are no realignment rumors this year. If it has to happen, please let it just be a sudden announcement that some kind of P4 affiliation has been reached. Please nothing drawn out.

A lot of UConn Women's BB fans were lamenting the end of the season after the Nattie run. I hope those that have not yet done so check out Head Coach Jim Mora and the football product this fall. I think he and his boys are going to impress. UConn sports starts back up in September! Can't wait.

I wish Mora was more visible during the offseason. Feels like he sorta goes into hiding in the off season? Not much from his social media accounts, no podcasts, interviews, etc. With spring practice, Rev share, women's hoop title, I'd like to see Jim out there more. I want to hear from him more about things. The results have been great, but selling the program to the public can be better.

fair comment…this board had the same comment last year. At this point, we just need to accept this isn’t what he does. But…during the season…he puts together a great team and is very press friendly.

I guess letting him take a social media break off season is a good trade off to have a coach that knows how to put together a solid team.

I wouldn’t assume it’s just laziness or not wanting to do it himself. He has a staff to do it for him. I would assume he thinks it’s easier to build a team in an era where half the roster turns over year to year if you have fewer spotlights and more privacy to do so.

Are those special padded helmets? For safety reasons? If yes, then why don't teams use them during the season?

Husky Football Forum:

“The first waves of transfers have arrived, or departed, and the optimism around UConn football is as high as it’s been in a decade. With many interesting portal additions and a strong returning cast of stars, the Huskies appear poised to put up another winning season.

In this episode, Aman and Graham discussed the key departures from last year’s team, highlighted incoming transfers to keep an eye on, and previewed the 2025 schedule.”
