Your first post - welcome. But I’m curious about how many games you have watched because your comments about Dangerfield shooting abilities aren’t supported by data. Was this your first game as well?

She’s 3rd on the team in points per game which I think is not bad when you consider she leads in assists by a wide margin. Her 3 pt shooting average is best among the starters - yep, higher than KLS.

Side note - the top two players for 3 pt avg are Kyla (80%; 4/5) and Molly (50%; 1/2).
Well said!

KLS had to do that. UConn isn't used to teams extending their defense and taking away the 3 pt line. UConn is used to getting alot of open 3s and if a team can somewhat neutralize Collier, UConn has nobody right now that will hurt you inside. Collier ONLY getting 23 was a good trade off for OK. I see more teams down the road defensing them this way. KLS cuts well but won't beat many GOOD defenders off the dribble.
"KLS had to do that", and she did it very successfully, as her stat line for the game proves. See more details about that in my reply on another thread. So if KLS has shown that she can do that, how can you conclude that the team has no one except Napheesa who can be productive inside? And if you say that it was only because of the 3-6 opponent, note that she did the same thing against Notre Dame.

Also, Megan (when fully healthy) and ONO have shown in spurts that they can be effective inside (especially as rebounders), although they have not demonstrated that they can be consistent in doing that yet.

This was not a close, competitive game against a Top 10 team.
This was a close, competitive game against a 3-6 team featuring mostly freshmen.

Big difference.[/QUOTE
So what. You don't watch much basketball do you. Like Geno said you live in fantasy land. Games like this happen all the time.

The OU game highlights UConn's weakness - half-court offense. When their outside shots are not falling, the team is in trouble. It turns into a passing exercise around the perimeter until the shot clock winds down.

I'm not a Dangerfield fan, and last night was why. She's a junior now, so the training wheels are off. She has to generate the opportunities in the half-court game & she's not doing it. She has to set the "rhythm" & she's not doing it. With her size & speed, she should be driving to the hoop a majority of the time, and dishing or scoring herself. Instead, she seems more comfortable hoisting up 3-pointers, and she's an average shooter at best. Her stat line last night: 3-13, 1-7 3pt, 2 assists. C'mon. Thats terrible against an average team like OU. She needs to watch MJ's film to see how its done.

Yes it doesn't seem like BackBay has watched much UCONN basketball.

Dangerfield is a career 40% 3pt shooter. And is currently right at that this year.

Overcoming adversity = good

Almost losing to a mediocre team = not good

I have the impression that some of you think that because I was critical of some of the play that I did not enjoy the game; you are wrong. I thought that it was a really fun game to watch. Since I am too old to play any more, I do love to watch.
