Agot Makeer is an American citizen. She has been in Canada for at least three years. She lives in Thunder Bay, a northern Ontario town 340 miles northeast of Mineapolis, on the shores of Lake Superior. Last summer, she tried out for the Canadian U16 team, but has yet to obtain her Canadian citizenship. To apply for Canadian citizenship, you need to have lived in Canada for at least 3 years (1,095 days) in the last 5 years, after which you have to wait 16 months. If her X account is anything to go by, there's a good chance she'll be on the Canadian U17 team next summer for the world championships.

She was first noticed with the Kia Nurse Elite team over the past two summers. She's listed in the bottom of ESPN's 2025 hopefuls ranking. She's all length, with a physique that resembles Kevin Durant, she can play all three positions on the perimeter, and I personally like her as a playmaker. After playing with Thunder Bay at St.Ignatius high school, she's now with Crestwood Prep in Toronto. The team is currently having a very good tournament, having for the first time the chance to play in the Vincent Cannizaro division, which is the championship bracket. They scored 15 points in their first game and 23 in the quarter-finals. Today, in the semi-finals, they will meet Morgan Cheli's team, Archibishop Mitty.

Late results from yesterday set up the Championship game:

Long Island Lutheran (N.Y.) 67 - 40 over Bishop McNamara (MD)
THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME is at 8 PM (Mountain Time?); GO MORGAN!! GO McKENNA!!
third/ fourth place game: Crestwood vs McNamara is at 6:00 PM (Mountain time??,) GO QANDANCE SAMUELS!!!
and, of interest, is IMG (FL) (Kelis Fisher) vs Folsom (CA) in the ninth-place game at 4:00 and
13th place game Mater Dei (ADDISON DEAL) VS Ontario Christian (Kaleena Smith, 5' 6') AT 10:00 AM
The full results should eventually be on NIKE TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS, 2023, click
VINCENT CANNIZZARO DIVISION, and next scroll down from day 1 to day 4 to see the results
for today's games. These final games could be determined by what team has the most DEPTH.
Imagine what it is like to have four very competitive games over FOUR DAYS!! LIU is "Packed" but
Mitty has both MORGAN and MCKEENA!
Hopefully the NIKE link will give the ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM and MVP/MVP Awards.
Let the games continue!! Zarathustra

Good round-up by Hansen & Clay, both of whom appear to be on-site in Arizona.
Seems like Morgan Cheli, McKenna Woliczko and Bucknell signee Elana Weisman scored 20 points each for Archbishop Mitty, while Toby Fornier had 29 in the loss for Crestwood.
LuHi was led -- scoring-wise -- by its guards, the Swords sisters and Kayleigh Heckel.

Should be a heck of a final.

I loved the updated content! It put the Semis in focus, and leaves me anticipating
a BARNBURNER of a FINAL! Both Teams are Packed! Which team has the "legs" to pull off
this four day, four game MARATHON! ?? The second half of the Championship game will show which
H.C. make the "adjustments" necessary and which roster hits the Marathon " wall "
of fatigue.

Kelis Fisher transferred from Roland Park (Mir's HS) to the IMG Academy in Florida about 2 years ago. I think that was a substantial upgrade for Kelis. Mir played on a pretty good AAU team, but her HS team didn't develop her especially well. I would not be surprised to see Kelis move up in the rankings.

Are any of these schools public schools or do top recruits no longer go to public schools
Private schools don't have to have a certified teacher as a coach where public schools do in many states. They also aren't tied to boundaries like public schools are in many states. Public school BB has really fallen off since I was in school.

Archbishop Mitty beats LI Lutheran by one, 73-72 in back and forth game.

Some excellent talent on the floor, that was obvious. However, I thought it looked like both teams had played four games in four days, particularly on defense and (lack of) boxing out.

McKenna Woliczko (#5 HG) 6'2" wing/forward from Archbishop Mitty, was by far the best player on the court

When Kate Koval started getting more engaged in the 2nd half, she would help keep her from posting up in her slot.
Plus, she has an unerring habit of being in the right place at the right time and makes adept cuts.

Morgan Cheli, the UConn commit, was also very good, as was Sylva Swords of LuHi, who is headed to Michigan. She can score at three levels. But Wolidzko is really interesting. Reminds me of a slightly faster Emily Engstler...plays bigger than her 6'2" size and is all over the place.

Heard her dad was a high school coach. If that has helped her, great, because she plays like a collegian not a high school sophomore.

Both teams are great....

Watched Final between Mitty and Long Island Lutheran...
Great High school game..
73-72 - Mitty wins Championship
Lutheran loaded with D1 talent.
Mitty as well.
K. Heckel is an excellent player for Lutheran - headed to USC
Morgan Chelli - Excellent..is very skilled. Relentless; very tight handle for her size. She is going to fit nicely into Uconn"s motion offense.
Mckenna Woliczko has much the same motor. Tough. Very nice player and only a sophomore.

good take while Chelli did not have the stats
She initiated the offense the whole game
Basically the point guard and it was her double team that created the held ball with 5 seconds
Made so many little plays u never know but I see
Her being in the rotation next year
Re Koval perhaps not her best game but not sure
She will be an impact player right away

Woliczko is one of the top few softball players in the nation for her grade. Has talked about wanting to play both sports in college, although that would be a challenge and wouldn’t be allowed by some of the higher level programs.

Very entertaining game. So much talent and skilled players out there. The game is growing, and the truly dedicated players will continually get better which will only make the high school, AAU, College, and WNBA game better. Love it! Great game. I am just happy that they are showing more and more girls high school basketball on TV.
