The coach at Notre Dame deserved to have her nose rubbed in it again. Thank you for getting the job done! I was cheering for you all the way in that game.

When Baylor beat her in the national title game a couple of years ago, she later made some derogatory remarks about our coach. Not surprisingly, I saw where she did the same thing recently towards Geno.

During the national championship game, the announcer said that McGraw told her that "the loss of Pat Summitt means there is no class at the top of our sport now"...... I cannot remember the exact wording of it. But basically, it was a veiled shot at Geno for being classless.

Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!

We have another thread on here about being civil and respectful of other teams, coaches, players, and recruits, and to our visitors from other boards, so I will not call you out, but rather say 'respectfully' you have a unique perspective and thank you!
(And yes, after the little dust-up pre game, it felt awfully good!:))

and to chime in here - Doris Burke and co near the end of the game made a point of emphatically stating that Geno is a classy guy - which I think may have diffused some of the rhetoric that everyone had been subjected to leading up to the game.

To clarify - there's no problem with being glad UConn whupped up on ND or disliking what Muffet said and expressing your displeasure at it. Nothing wrong at all. I object to the Little Miss Muppet name that started showing up as being too juvenile. The insults towards McGraw started to get personal and the whole thing just screamed "middle school", classless, and arrogant to me. But if fans want to glory in the beatdown, I say go for it.

I'm going to repost what I just said in in the other thread, too.

I know, but I thought it was fun and funny in its timing. I appreciate the confirmation and the other thread, and all you do for us.

Both of the announcers brought it up twice near the end of the game. I was very happy about it!

I have to say that I disagree with the notion that Muffet was entitled to any respect last week as a result of her behavior (and that of her team - you can bet orchestrated) at the POY award and her decision to deflect criticism by effectively slandering Geno by inference and innuendo. What nick names came out seemed like fair comment to me. It is behind us thanks to Geno and team ending her little public tantrum the right way. I suspect it will follow her around for a good while and she will come to regret it if she does not already.

No doubt about any of that. The point is that there's no need to stoop to her--and her team's--level.

You don't stoop to her level to call her out on it and part of that has always been, for public figures and she is one, parody and ridicule and if that cannot happen on a fan board then we are in trouble. That kind of thinking is what has terribly bad acting public figures believing that there is no bad publicity.

Let me get this right - you can't call a person out without resorting to name-calling and childish insults?

Why is it now I'm having a desire to see both head coaches done up as Muppets (I've been catching up on Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge on SyFy). I think it would be hilarious.

Or maybe poseable action figures. Geno's could have "hair rubbing action".
