Texas Post Game Thread

If we don’t stop the incessant fouling and if we don’t start hitting FT’s, we aren’t winning s—— this year. This is the 6 or 7th game that should have been a double digit win. And please don’t tell me about the refs. I know there were a lot of bad calls that did not go our way, but there were so many stupid fouls too. And there is no excuse for the constant missing of free throws. I’m happy for the win, but after all these games we’re seeing a pattern. And that pattern tells me that will be good, but not elite unless we fix these obvious defects. And by the way, the constant following and the missing free throws is adding about 30% more alcohol intake per game. So from my health standpoint, I would appreciate this to stop!

probably the 30 calls they blew during the game. These had to be big east refs because they were bottom of the barrel

It was like they never officiated a game before.

One of the blocking fouls we got the Texas play lunged into Stewart with elbow out and Stewy’s called for a foul? For what exactly?

And that Texas center nearly mauled Reed and Reibe - that was fine but he got every call no matter how light contact.

The officiating made that game miserable to watch.

I don't know what happened to our offense in the 2nd half. Just absolutely putrid.

I've said "ugly win, but a win is a win" to often this year, one of these ugly games is going to go against us sooner or later.

Being able to beat an SEC team when Solo and Silas are net zeros on the court is encouraging.

Less encouraging is the regression from Solo and the inconsistency from Silas.

10-1 into BE play is probably best case scenario we expected before the season started. On to Butler.
I guess you man from last year as he had a good game against Florida.

Our 2nd half offense was a disgrace, but a win is a win. We’re a very good team, but the second half of this game hurt my eyes.
They either ran an amazing play for a dunk or wide open three. or they look like they sharted their shorts and could make a simple pass or
dribble

Need to fix the rebounding issues as well.

I really thought our depth would wear teams down and we'd pull away in 2nd half's.

Turns out our depth only provides competent replacements for foul trouble.

Ugly win but a great run through the gauntlet part of the season. Now time to take care of business in conference.

I still think we are really good. But then I watch a game like this and I’m not sure. I haven’t seen the team like Michigan or Duke lay an egg against a really bad team yet.
IMO a less than really good team doesn't win ugly / close games as much as this group has. That said, there's definitely still a ton of room for improvement. And I think that's how you want it in December.

Sloppiest game of the season. Nobody really looked sharp. Thought them Stewart looked good at time should have played more in the second half.

Tarris one foul early then nothing was impressive. The rest of the team man that was just horrid putting Texas in the double bonus so soon in the second half. I get you want to play aggressive defense but you also have to be intelligent with it as well.

Free throw shooting needs to be worked on by Malachi can’t be a primary ball handler and be a bad free throw shooter.

Take the win and move on in the best thing you can say.

A very strong start in his first start, Braylon Mullins will be unstoppable if his S&C improves.
Hurley should add more sets to give Mullins more shots, and maybe some ISO plays...

this is a good Texas team.
I agree on Mullins. Dude is knock down shooter and just needs some space - run plays.
