He went to Texas A&MWow! Javonte Brown back to the portal?
Came back to delete my post lol. Got my secondary Texas schools confused obviously. He went to Texas A&M
His buyout went down today. Been done for a while. Can they not announce all of this on April 1st I cannot handle it.
Anyways, that was fast and rather expected.
Texas basketball is cursed.Top 10 coach in basketball now with unlimited resources and a never ending pool of local talent. They will win a national championship in the next 5 seasons
There is a weird aura around the program, but Beard is about as perfect a fit as you will find for Texas. Would love to schedule some more h/h games with themTexas basketball is cursed.
Shaka was also a supposed top 10 coach in basketball once upon a time.
I kid, somewhat. I like Beard. He’ll probably be successful there.
It’s a pretty cutthroat program with outrageously high expectations based on little basketball success. There is a weird aura around the program, but Beard is about as perfect a fit as you will find for Texas. Would love to schedule some more h/h games with them
Texas basketball is cursed.
But also Shaka made some interesting comments at his Marquette introduction about it being a family atmosphere and a basketball first school as the reason for taking the job.
Yup, but I think they finally made the right hire to actually meet those expectationsIt’s a pretty cutthroat program with outrageously high expectations based on little basketball success.
I think so too. Sky is the limit.Yup, but I think they finally made the right hire to actually meet those expectations
Wonder where TTU goes now. Heck of an upgrade for Texas from Shaka tho
Nah, he went to Texas, started his career there. No brainer.Bet he wishes he held out a day or fro huh?
I will bet he does not.Top 10 coach in basketball now with unlimited resources and a never ending pool of local talent. They will win a national championship in the next 5 seasons
He was 6 seconds away from winning one at Tech. Now he actually has the full power of the Texas brand behind him to recruit better players, and he's a top 10 coach that actually knows how to develop talentI will bet he does not.

Villanova vs Georgetown April 1 1985 was the perfect example of this. The best team did not play the best in the last game of the season. It's certainly possible. But a lot has to go right to win a national championship. Look at some of the powerhouse programs who bring in tons of talent and develop guys and get battle tested in strong leagues and still only have one in the history of the program. UConn's last 20 years is an aberration. And the best teams don't always win - they frequently don't.
This was Shaka before TexasHe was 6 seconds away from winning one at Tech. Now he actually has the full power of the Texas brand behind him to recruit better players, and he's a top 10 coach that actually knows how to develop talent
Making a cinderella run to the FF is a bit different than 1st place in the Big 12 and then losing a national title on a corner 3.This was Shaka before Texas
