“Don’t mess with Texas”
More like “Texas is stupid”
Amirite, boneyard??

Our sport, our city, our home court, our fans, our coaching and our team ===== victory

Don't you know who we are

.-.
.-.
.-.
The chill of Manhattan
will cool the longhorns down
Lone star ghost riders goin home
What on earth is this?
Six, six, and eight syllables?
That ain't no haiku

What the heck is this?
I can't count the syllables
or number of lines
I'm gonna wake up
In the city that never sleeps
And find I'm King Of The Hill
Top of the heap!

Third time not a charm
Syllables and lines both off
I'm baffled by these
Oomph Huskies must play
better than boneyard haiku’s
its five seven five
Correct syllables
But misplaced apostrophes
Try "haikus" and "it's"
every utterance
must be made in haiku form
pull the sled people
"Ev-er-y" is three
Eschew ambiguity
"Ev'ry" is clearer

But make no mistake
Your contribution is most
appreciated

Cousin's death, long drive,
birthday, then full phone failure
have all thrown me off

Haiku stokes mojo
Fans follow honored form and
pull sled together

This is called "artistic license"

Why an artistic license is important?

This license is essential to all art because it is about the interpretation and style of an image or object, not just its physical properties. Artistic license allows for creativity in the interpretation of the world and does not have to be respected by everyone.

Foot on the sideline
by Rodney Purvis was called
Out of bounds each time

Thinking about that
makes me laugh, but it wasn't
"artistic license"

I have my doubts that
You believe your argument
Or that it's haiku

Your explanation,
question, and prose paragraph
Aren't haiku either

Gotta be honest:
They belong somewhere other
than a haiku thread

I call that BS
A ban from this thread could be
"Artistic license"

Your effort is less
Welcome here than Mapplethorpe
Would be at the Louvre

Seems I hit a nerve with that post over something quite trivial. Interesting insights from the inside of the posters. Says a lot about your inner self. And those would be about your humble opinion or are you the self appointed community spokespersons?

There's a difference
Between unconventional
And being a jerk.

If you took notice
You'd see that in every
Haiku thread there are

Negative replies
To ev'ryone who doesn't
Follow haiku rules.

It's 5-7-5
And negative reactions
Come from many folks

Who participate
Regularly in this thread,
Not self-appointed

"Spokespersons" for the
Community. It's a thread
For Haiku, which means

By definition
5-7-5 construction.
So no, your freeverse

Didn't "hit a nerve".
It's standard procedure for
Any among us

Who take part in these
Threads to call out non-haiku
Construction. But while

Most people just go,
"Oops", your self-serving reply
Smells like fresh horsebleep.

You fancy yourself
A modern day Walt Whitman?
Return to verse one.
