Texas exposed UCONN tonight

How some UConn fan come to their conclusion is just baffling to me. UT is #7 ranked in the country and got whacked by 21 points in the Elite 8 and they talked about UConn being exposed. Every team has their weakness and strength, no team is perfect.

If Oregon St is the next opponent, we had better be able to defend the 3 ball.
It's going to be the death of Baylor

Exactly......Baylor may very well come back and win this one with their superior athleticism but if Oregon State prevails they actually will present as many if not more problems for the Huskies......they are a smart, well coached team that can play inside or out...they are actually kind of "poor man's" UConn

No UCONN was not exposed at all. Relax.

Texas basic defense was a 2 - 3 zone. The zone took a lot of UCONN's movement and inside game away. Give Texas some credit. They came out and played hard and very physical. And they got away with a few fouls - some very obvious.

UCONN has a week to rest and prepare.

Be very physical with Stewie!! UCONN struggled to a team they absolutely destroyed last year. Baylor has owned Texas this season not even close. Depending on the game tonight with Baylor and Oregon State.. Which I think Baylor will absolutely destroy them tonight. My point is if UCONN plays like they did tonight in the national semis it will be a loss for my beloved huskies. I know UCONN is up but just doesn't seem like a typical UCONN performance. I'm quite nervous about the semis in Indy!!
If you are concerned about UCONN's performance you must really be concerned about Baylor's. They are struggling with the team you said they would destroy.

Texas exposed how to cut the deficit down from 51 to 21.

That means they get 30 point better every year. Looks like a 10 point defeat for us next year + a 40 point demolition the year after that. You can't argue with math.

Baylor will absolutely destroy Oregon State? Time to stop making predictions.

And Texas lost by 21 yet they exposed Uconn? Really? Baylor is struggling with OSU...Think Uconn struggles with Baylor if they win tonight too? I guess if you have to beat up on players and call it getting physical huh?

Some of you are absolutely amazing. On a night when UConn did not play their best game, and Texas played the best they could, UConn still won by 21 points. Twenty-one points. Baylor, who you are so afraid for UConn to play, did not score 1 point out of their half court offense in the first half. Not one point. You should have a lot more faith in your coaches and your team. Napheesa showed she can handle the pressure. Along with Gabby, that's a lot of rebounds. Remember too, Morgan and Gabby both had to sit, more Gabby than Morgan, but Napheesa stepped up. When was Baylor ranked number one this year? Has Baylor won 73 in a row, twenty-two in the tournament, and 36-0 this year? Everyone gets up for UConn. Everyone! They all want to make history while keeping UConn from making history.

I'm hoping you don't pick your own stocks. If so, call a mutual fund tomorrow.

Got to admit I was torn on this one...can't stand Mulkey and Baylor, but I think they'd be easier to beat than Oregon State. This was probably the 4th or 5th time I've seen Oregon State, but only the 2nd or 3rd time I've seen an entire Baylor game, but they seem to have no half court offense at all, are a mediocre shooting team at best and a really poor free throw shooting team. Of all the teams that remained before this game I think they would have been the easiest to beat.

I agree

Oh how the alleged mighty Baylor has fallen. Release The (Uconn) Crackens.

Release The Uconn

Now had Baylor cross that gun line....We were waiting sho-nuff

Being at the game , there was not one second where the outcome was in doubt. However, the huskies were lax on defense. Texas had 3 quick hit baskete following Uconn baskets. They were caught napping. Perimeter defense was not great, and our passing was uncharacteristically sloppy. Huskies still enjoyed a never in doubt 21 point victory. By the way, Carolyn Peck's last new hope to beat the Huskies won't be joing the FF party !

I thought the title was a joke. Actually I was hopeful it was. Boy was I disappointed.

Unreal. Unreal.

UONN wins by 21 points - and was comfortably head by double digits and UCONN is "EXPOSED?"

Are you kidding me?????????????????????????????????? You mean 20 year old kids have to play perfect every game? Are you kidding me???????????????

I think the result might have been a little more lopsided if they hadn't used professional wrestling refs.

Listen I'm new to the board I'm just stating my opinion no need to get all defensive it's ok guys!! Everyone is entitled to there opinion.
Yes, everyone is entitled to an opinion but everyone is also entitled to comment on someone else's opinion. Welcome to the Boneyard Mike.

I suggest you cut back on the Redbulls before posting. The sky's not falling and people aren't giving you a hard time. It's all good.

TX played great! I thought some of the early refs calls vs UCONN made them mellow their Defense a little bit which led to a TX runs but every time TX got a little closer, UCONN hit some big 3's or made great plays to keep the distance!
Not to worry. Geno will punish them this week and our true Huskies will show up in Indianapolis!

Not "punish" but "coach" them. When I ran my teams into the ground, I reminded them it was conditioning not punishment. It usually occurred after a lacklustered effort.

I was actually rendered a bit out of sync at the beginning of the game.
When we realized that Kim was sporting ABSOLUTELY NO visible sequins, our fear was that she was launching some elaborate & nefarious distraction of the Beaver clan.

Her (6 & 1/2 ft) trees are mighty... (actually, mighty young), but as coaches are known to remark... "The best things about Freshmen, is that they become Sophmores." Baylor may become quite unbearable, when they add their incoming Frosh, next year. They looking formitable on paper...

Doubt it. This was just one of those games, and Geno isn't going to stress them on it. Not every game can be like Saturday, and the elite eight is always a little weird in terms of how the team handles it.

I'm at a loss for words. I wonder if Texas is celebrating their accomplishment?

A two seed only loses by 21 points, "do you believe in miracles"?

I never thought the outcome was in doubt, thought Texas did what they needed to do, still wasn't nearly enough

There always seems to be one game where Uconn has an off night. Felt like they were sick/colds or just an off night. It is the law of averages considering how well they played the last game. I was impressed how OSU handled the intense defense of Baylor. Tough group of kids. Looking forward to the game.

I was just curious as to how this prediction worked out for you tonight Mike? LOL:eek:

I agree with both sides. It wasn't a horrible game, but the rebounding was not good at all. Outrebounded, and if you break down offensive versus defensive rebounds, it looks even worse than the totals. That has to improve in the final four. Also a couple of uncharactistic mental lapses. I'm betting Geno wasn't nuts about getting beat back for a layup after a free throw either. Kia might hear about 38 minutes and no rebounds, too. Morgan was great, and Stewie kept getting back up and making plays after being knocked down.
