One thing is for sure, though, Tennessee football will eventually be elite again. It's just a matter of time. They have the tradition, the stadium, the money, facilities, etc., to succeed.

What is your definition of elite? 7 wins in a season?

The vols problem is most of the other schools in the conference have equal or superior in terms of stadium, money, facilities, tradition. They are ahead of Vandy, Kentucky, Arkansas and that's pretty much it. Even Little Carolina while not equal in terms of stadium size or tradition... is located in a more fertile recruiting state than TN.

Stadium is big, but so is everybody's in the SEC. AND EVERYBODY HAS MONEY TOO. So, they have tradition - and very, very poor leadership.

What's the difference between these teams and UConn? A bigger stadium! We need a bigger stadium!

(Oh and winning some games would be nice too.)

Well, that and tv contracts for money. Winning ain't that big a deal. I'm a Gamecock.

We averaged over 75.00 per game in 1999 when we went 0-11. (of course tickets were a lot cheaper then)
