Terry Larrier to Choose Between UConn and VCU

Hopefully KO has one last chance to sell UCONN to TL and his family. Ten toes in!!

Larrier has no desire to be close to NY, he cut St Johns for that very reason

Exactly right. SJU didn't even recruit him because his people made it clear he wanted to go south. I'm sure Uconn is as in this one as any northern school will get. It's just that all signs point to VCU and leaving the northeast.

What kid would pass up a chance to play at Tulane and Tulsa?

I don't get it.

That is the word. Uconn needs to get an official visit
Just a thought here...if he loves VCU this much, why not just announce he is going there this weekend? Why even consider Uconn at this point?

We're not getting an official...his AAU coach basically confirmed as much. Gotta throw all the eggs in the D-Rob basket now.

Just a buildup! Once someone commits they are old history. Just look at the thread dissing KO"s recruiting because no one recently committed. DHam is old news.

We are in the "what's in it for me, I want it yesterday, and if it ain't recent it's worthless" period of human history.

Just curious, where did you see his AAU coach confirm UConn isn't getting another visit?

I've been told its closer than people think between UConn and VCU. That's one of the main reasons why he didn't commit on his official at VCU.

I agree that he had every opportunity to commit this weekend but chose not to for some reason. He may not have his mind made up and wants to talk to his family about it. The more time that elapses, the more I like our chances. Paging Kemba Walker.

Shaka is a great coach, and he obviously has more of a track record than KO, but I don't see how playing in a trapping D and launching 3s on offense is the best system for preparing you for the next level.

@GiveNGobball
3h
Just confirmed that Terry Larrier is down to VCU and UConn. Decision is coming soon per his AAU coach. @NYPost_Brazille reported it first.

I assumed "decision coming soon" to mean there would be no more visits, but I suppose I could be wrong.

As opposed to Fordham and URI?

To a New York City kid, Rose Hill is just fine and URI is scads better than the crapple we're forced to serve.

Glad 3 and 99 feel it is not a done deal to VCU. I agree that the more time passes, the better our chances.

I know you're original comment was just a joke, but Fordham plays in high school arena and URI hasn't made the NCAAs in over a decade.

How does a NYC kid feel about playing in a place with a big monument to slavery in the city center?

Throw in teams like Umass and St. Joe's too. Many of us remember Umass and calimari but high school seniors will have no recollection of them ever making an NCAA Tourney because that was 15+ years ago. St Bonaventure (Olean, NY anyone?). Let's face it, both leagues have their issues. Kids make their decisions based on many things.

if you say so I can believe it. let's hope ko stays on this

shaka prepares his team for the next game and for the big dance - probably a good strategy - but until he sends some bodies to the nba and they stick - he shouldn't even be in the hunt for top talent - like jb at Syracuse, he doesn't coach a style conducive to producing nba ballers

The fact that this kid is considering VCU over UCONN is mind boggling. My question is this, after this season how will the AAC compare in strength to the A10? Will we be fighting over players going to their schools rather than top 20 ?
