Today's issue of The Diamondback (U. Maryland's campus newspaper) has a number of articles on tonight's big game:

“We knew we were going to play them early next year,” Thomas said. “We all were here all summer just working hard and waiting for them to come to our environment.”

“We’re going to be able to absolutely be able to use our speed and our quickness,” coach Brenda Frese said. “We’re a different team for sure."

The rule changes with fouling??

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Maryland is the more physical team if I remember the game from last year??

I thought so, too, but I think she might be putting the two points together and saying it's an issue for every team this year, so with a longer bench it's an advantage for them at the moment

Thanks for posting - nice promo for tonights game.

It's entirely possible that foul trouble dooms Uconn tonight.

Geno has UConn prepared for the foul trouble and on short notice. That's the tuff part on short notice. MD doesn't shoot the trey well. UConn contained Thomas last year twice and Chiney in our last game. We should be fine. It will come down to defense. Don't forget KML was out of the first MD game with a foot injury early and we won by 16 and MD has graduated one of their starters from last year. If I remember correctly Bria was sick too. Give MD a 5 point advantage with homecourt and give UConn the win by approx. 12. Lets pray no more injuries.

Diamondbacks are turtles?

The diamondback terrapin, Malaclemys terrapin lives in the brackish water of the Maryland swamps according to Wikipedia.

"UCONN Swamps Terps" should be tomorrow's headline.

The Diamondback is pretty hilarious with their sports coverage. Most especially the women's basketball coverage, in my opinion. Too bad I wasn't on campus today or I would have picked up a copy.

Live and learn. In the part of Texas I come from Diamonbacks are a whole nuther kettle of fish, as it were.

It was a different game... even more embarrassing for MD, I expect.

hehe :p

OOOPS! NOT SO FAST "FREEZE". Maybe someday.... Talk's cheap.

MD Athletic Dept. should study the J. Wooden quote below

Well, yeah. But he is about nine years behind on the Boneyard News.

I had to laugh. UConnChapette, in the game thread, said, "What kind of funny faces is Brenda making?" Then, ESPNU showed a close up of Brenda making a funny face.

AS Lee Corso says every Sat during Gameday..........NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND............Next!!
