Pretty awesome. Wishing you guys all the best going forward.
I think this next with this next class. Tennessee can be back in the national title conversation. Plus if there are any transfers.

I think LSU (for now) is a much better team than OU. I believe if you could have reversed the order of these games they would have beaten OU convincingly.. Just seems like they played extremely hard against LSU once they got over the initial first quarter shock of how athletic LSU was. Morrow & Johnson are awesome players. Williams really compliments them as well. And then you throw in the Gilbert factor, geezus that girl is becoming the Vinnie Johnson (microwave) of women's basketball.

She comes across as extremely likable to me. Tennessee did a great job with this hire, wishing her continued success throughout the rest of this season and moving forward.
Yes i love the hire. I can see why she has won at high level.

The press does two things or at least you want it to do two things, create turnovers and speed up the other teams play. Against the top teams you will have guards who aren't going to turn the ball over regardless of the pressure in the backcourt and they are good enough to turn those press breaks into layups.

Overall though I think Tennessee is doing a really good job this year. They lost to two top ten teams and really had a chance to win both of those games. If they want to launch so many threes though they need to shoot a better percentage if they want to win. I do think this coach is really good and eventually she will have Tennessee back in the hunt.

TN is a team no one wants to play. Man they’ve had some rough losses dating back to last year (Notre Dame, and never forget when they should have knocked off South Carolina).

Kim will get them there. Unlike Kellie vol nation is completely behind her (alongside TN’s newfound NIL). Interested to see them vs Texas, SC and UConn coming up. 2 out of 3 are those are in Knoxville

It was effective. For a time in the first half LSU repeatedly beat Tenn in transition. I'm sure other teams noticed.

I'm not surprised that the Vols lost to OK and LSU, but given they were both 1 possesion games vs top 10 teams, it does show that the new Tennesee can already compete at a high level.

Yes, and no. They got behind huge against both teams, and at home; that's not a recipe for success for the home underdog. They spent a lot of energy trying to crawl back into those games, which they did; credit them for fighting hard and not giving up. OU ended up losing at Miss. State.

There are a lot of good teams in the SEC, and Tennessee is one of them; they are also the only one of those good teams with a brand new head coach; so, she's doing great as she puts her stamp on the program. They will continue to improve throughout conference play as will other teams. I do think their relatively weak non-conference schedule failed to prepare them for such talented teams like OU and LSU so early in January.

To be clear, I thought they might lose by 20. No matter how you get there, if you lose to a top 10 team by 1 possesion, you are competitive.

Soon they get to take on top 5 teams, UConn, TX and SC, plus one more against LSU, who may be top 5 by then. We'll see if they are 'competitive' one notch higher.

OOC scheduling for P4 teams (football too) is always a conundrum. Schedule tough teams to improve your team, or cupcakes to project your record/seeding. Sadly, if you look at history and stats the cupcakes route is smarter.

Mulkey has known this forever. If Baylor won Big12, or LSU is top 2 in SEC, no one cares about their OOC in March. With these new 18-20 team conferences, this will only get worse. Mulkey was not stripped of her 4 national titles due her weak OOC.

On Coach Caldwell, she most likely inherited most of her first schedule. I don't believe she tried to cancel the UConn game. We'll see what her future schedules look like.

I thought you guys were going to beat Arkansas by 50. Thanks for keeping it respectful. I will have to check out Coach Neighbors post-game conference here shortly. Going to be a long season for Arkansas and Coach Neighbors.
