Tennessee season

Look at y'all basking in the glow. I am happy that things are going well for you Lady Vol fans and Coach Caldwell. Everyone is always skeptical of "The System" and how the platooning of players works or doesn't work. It is tough. I am just glad that Coach is staying with it and like I said, it is only going to get better for Lady Vol fans and players.

Looking at the list of names, I am happy for Coach Charmin Smith, Jacie Hoyt, and Cori Close. Heck, I will give Coach Kim a shout as well. All of them are off to a great start and I am happy for their coaching success this season.

Jeez! Arkansas and my good friend Coach Neighbors will have to face the Lady Vols in a few weeks!

Wow it was a one point win for #9 Oklahoma over #15 Tennessee. Very surprised that Tennessee lost at home. But looking at the box score left me wondering how it was so close. 54% vs 45% shooting; 68% free throws but only 28% for Tennessee (2-7 so not many).

The boards belonged to Oklahoma 42-33 but the turnovers did too 31-18 which probably kept the game close. This is Oklahoma's third quad 1 win and Tennessee remains at 2.

TN in my opinion is a solid contender. I wasn't sold until this game. Having said that, I think there's an issue they need to resolve or it will sink them in the long run. This uptempo style of play is viable, but it often abandons the necessity to consider good shot selection. Too many 3s when a higher percentage 2 was available. It also results in lower FT opportunities. A few more drives and you probably don't lose by one point. They overcooked this stew.

Agree, shot selection moving forward will be key moving forward. This game Cooper wasn’t hitting any 3s, driving to the basket or short jumper would have been higher % play.

Still curious about how effective full court press this season against quicker guards, like LSU, SCar, etc., will be. Darby, Sara, Jewel, Jillian, do not appear quick enough for those types of teams so will watch if TN drops to a half court D, which needs to improve. Appears TN needs another good transfer portal cycle plus adding the new HS recruits to see if this system could work against elite teams.

Pretty awesome. Wishing you guys all the best going forward.
I think this next with this next class. Tennessee can be back in the national title conversation. Plus if there are any transfers.

I think LSU (for now) is a much better team than OU. I believe if you could have reversed the order of these games they would have beaten OU convincingly.. Just seems like they played extremely hard against LSU once they got over the initial first quarter shock of how athletic LSU was. Morrow & Johnson are awesome players. Williams really compliments them as well. And then you throw in the Gilbert factor, geezus that girl is becoming the Vinnie Johnson (microwave) of women's basketball.

She comes across as extremely likable to me. Tennessee did a great job with this hire, wishing her continued success throughout the rest of this season and moving forward.
Yes i love the hire. I can see why she has won at high level.
