Tenn 17 points with 3.7 to go in first half with Ala in possession. Holy moley! No field goal for Tenn in 2d quarter.
 
Three, count em, 3 LV points in second quarter!!!

Six/30, 0/7, 5.6. 4 assists, seven tos! Just when you think it couldn'tpossibly get worse, it gets worse!
 
OMG. This is underperforming on a colossal scale. I thought they would be pissed and wreak havoc tonight. The game is not over, but this is embarrassing to a once-proud program.

Are they WNIT worthy?

The players have quit. It is a sad thing to say. Holly is in fantasy land. She said she needs to do things different next season. These women will never play for her. Holly is a nice person but she is not a team leader. The players know that and they have no respect for her as a leader.
 
I will wait until match is over and then count my chickens.
You never know when the Empire will strike back.
 
This is Alabama..... Even a blind squirrel should find a nut..... sad state of affairs..... and I do feel badly for the players.

Well, they exhausted themselves in the first half against LSU by scoring only 18 points so they wanted to make sure they didn't burn themselves out again this game and played it safe by scoring only 17! :cool:

They shot 6-30 in the first half - 20%, and 0-7 from three. About 30% of their points came from the free-throw line where they were an amazing 5-6!

Their guards and bench are a combined 1-19 shooting with 4 points!!!!!
They do contribute 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals, and 3 blocks with for them a very reasonable 5 TOs and only four fouls.

Dumpster fire for this is a compliment!

Yeah Kaizen, I think you may be right..... Holly has been insulated perhaps the last couple of years by the Big3..... upperclassmen who may have said "not on MY watch.... we are the LVs!!!"..... no such strength to speak in this manner now...... ordinarily I would scold the players and implore them to be mature....etc.... but in this case I absolutely do not blame them..... the post game pressers as enough of an exhibit ..... "I tell them to do this , and they just won't do it".... or "Diamond decided she wanted to play, so she played pretty well"...... a grown adult throwing her own players in the mud to elevate her own standing..... shameful.
 
I have to admit, I have been enjoying the fact I need to scroll further and further down the ESPN scores page to find TN as they sank from #4 down into the twenties, and today when I went to the scores page and couldn't find them on the top 25 default display it sent a little tickle of amusement coursing through my body! :rolleyes:

I know I am a sick individual! :)

This is most certainly Tennessee's biggest game of the year.
The next game after a devastating loss is, at that moment, the most important game of the year.
Tennessee is down 10 early in the 4th quarter. Maybe, just maybe, they can flip the script and snatch victory from defeat's jaws, rather than what they've done in every close game they've had in the past 6 weeks.
 
Wow - TN while not scoring a lot of points in the third quarter has cut the lead by 5 points and is fouled with 29 seconds left in the half. Rather than hold for the last shot and go to the fourth only down at worst 6 points and maybe only 4 or 3 points, diamond shoots and misses 3 seconds after the inbounds, ALA goes down and scores in the last second and enters the fourth up 8.

To compound it DD then turns the ball over on the first possession of the fourth which leads to a made three and re-established 11 point margin!

Train wreck.
 
And now a foul and turnover fest, but at least TN has their offensive rebounding in gear - ALA can't seemed to grab any defensive rebounds.

I want to thank you for this vivid description, on behalf of those of us who are sans SEC Network.

Is Diamond still in the game (middle of 4th Q)?

If you want Holly to stay you should be rooting against Bama. Because if the Vols lose to another sub 500 team, it will be clear that the players have quit on her. And when that happens, it becomes very difficult to not get fired.
 
OMG! If Tennessee Loses this game. Man oh man. I have never seen the LV - who do has talent by the way - have a season like this!!!

LV has a #2 #1 #10 #4 etc. What is going on? And yes the coaching sucks as bad as the players do right now. SMH.
